Let me start by saying that I love seeing shows at the Capital Center and have always had a nice time at this venue. I am normally a positive person but the way one of the ushers made me feel at the Nurse Blake show prompted me to write this review. We bought tickets to the show last minute but arrived to the show late with excitement to have a nice night with laughs after a rough week. Half way through the show I took my phone out to take a picture and this women came out from no where and ordered me to turn my phone off because there were no videos allowed and I would be thrown out of the show if she caught me again. First of all there were no signs that said no videos were allowed and no one told us when we entered the building. Maybe there was something mentioned before the show started but like I said, we were late. She never gave me a chance to explain myself and took off to tell one of the ushers standing in the aisle next to me. After that I felt humiliated because I could tell he was watching me with a close eye and I sat there with anger and fear to even touch my phone. I got up to talk to the usher she spoke to (who was very nice and explained to me that it was just a warning), so that I could apologize and explain to him that I didn’t know the rule and a guy in the audience basically told me to sit down because he was trying to watch the show. I honestly could not even hear anything Nurse Blake said after that because I was so upset about the situation. I am a 45 year old women and she made me feel like an unruly teenager. We paid over $100 for an upsetting night when all I wanted was to laugh and have a good time. Maybe if people show up late to these shows, the people collecting the tickets should inform them of the rules. If someone told me, this entire situation could have...
Read moreBeautiful venue! I absolutely LOVED going here. Having never been to Concord before, I have to say the downtown is full of beautiful shops--no big box stores here! You feel like you're supporting small businesses just walking down the street. They even have a real live bookstore!! But I digress...
We came to see Gregory Alan Isakov. This was truly a chef's kiss magical experience! I'd say there were less than a thousand people, and the space is so small and intimate that you feel like a part of the show. I would not suggest coming here for a show that is usually more energetic, because the theatre-style seating and narrow space you have to get to your seat makes it pretty much impossible to dance. But this wasn't that kind of show, and I cannot stress enough how much I loved the whole experience. Slightly tough to find a parking spot without using the parking garage (because I love making things more difficult for myself for no reason!!) but the venue is probably the best I've ever been to because of how intimate the space is. The staff was great too! Professional and helpful and...yeah you get the point. For our first covid-era concert and having to balance mask-compliance with beer drinking, things went really smoothly. Don't forget to bring your proof of vaccination, and you'll have a great time!!

Read moreI have been going to this venue for years and it has always been a pleasant experience. The CCA is always clean and the staff friendly and helpful. There is a large auditorium and balcony which together offers seating for over 1300 people. There is usually limited food and drinks available whenever I have attended. I am unsure if this is a provision of the facility or provided by the production staff. Either way there is a small concession stand as well as drink and snack vending machines. Several benches are provided along the main approach to the entrance where people can congregate before and after the event as well as during any intermissions. The Capitol Center is an air-conditioned, handicapped accessible facility with an elevator and street level drop off entrance and a limited municipal free parking garage within a 5 to 10 minute walk along Concord's Main St. Which boasts many shops and restaurants along the way. All a visit to New Hampshire's Concord Capitol Center for the Arts is a wonderful way to spend a night...
