I would give half a star if available, and it would be ONLY because the servers on the day of the function were a bit considerate.
In September, we had a pre-wedding function at the Holiday Inn in Concord, NH, and countless things went wrong.
First, the event manager, Michaela, was not responsive at all and was seldom available.
Second chef John did not deliver the food what was promised and contracted
Third, there was no event manager present on the day of function as assured earlier
Michaela responded to our emails at her own leisurely time. Her VM had someone else's voice and despite pointing this out to her few times, it was still the same three months later.
They said the chef had made non-American food, so we asked to try try some of the ethnic Asian dishes.
Michaela made an appointment with us to taste the food, but when we went there, she was not there. After waiting for 15 minutes someone else came, and we did the tasting with her. The chef, John was also there, and we must say we were pleasantly surprised by the ethnic foods he had prepared (but on the day of the function, the food was inedible … more to follow)
They took our suggestions, made notes, and said that Michaela would be informed and we would get the notes. We never received the notes of the changes/our suggestions
Then we took another appt with Michaela closer to the date to go over the timeline and set the final schedule
We went there, and guess what? She was NOT there.
Again, after waiting for 15 minutes, someone else came, and we did the schedule with her.
Chef John was also there and again he assured us that he got all the food under control and that he would oversee everything and be there on the day of the function
Then came the day of the function..... No Manager on site No Michaela or her boss on site No chef on site
Only four servers who I must say did their best
We were onsite two hours before the function was going to start and were told chef John was not in today (at all) The chef called us afterwards and he informed that he had to leave in the morning so it seems like food was prepared by someone else. This person probably never cooked Asian foods before The food trays were not labeled properly at all so the servers were very confused In the meantime we hosts instead of mingling with our guests and enjoying the party had to help the servers figure it all out Now the food … The potatoes were extremely raw and unpeeled and not what we had tasted. The dish we had tasted and approved had small potatoes and LOT of cauliflower. This seemed like a dish of raw unpeeled potatoes and a small piece of cauliflower here and there
The chicken was very salty and dry, without proper Asian seasonings. The dish we had tasted had cardamom, spices and seasonings. This was in no way the same as before
The breads must have been left in the oven too long and half of them had turned to toast
It was a horrible experience, and we could see that no guests ate. The plates were all returned full of food
After the event, Michaela suddenly responded to all emails and even was capable to pick up her phone and call us. The urgency became very apparent and they wanted full amount for the event.
DO NOT USE THEM/THEIR SERVICE...
Read moreFor reference I am a 28 year old female. I stayed here because I remember liking the area from years ago and I really wanted to use the pool and hot tub. How ever when I got to the hot tub there was one other person in it I figured just another guest not big deal. However once in hot tube I soon learned that the gentleman in the hot tube was not a guest and all. He then started asking me countless questions like how old I was and about drugs and if I did them (I do not at ALL. I was uncomfortable and got the impression he was under the influence him self, thankfully he left and once he left I went to the front desk and informed them about my experience. I later went down a second time hoping for a better experience nope worse this guy was also NOT a guest and asked me how old I was and a bunch of personal questions. He was 100% on drugs even picked off a scab from his leg and dropped it into the hot tub. This guy made me so uncomfortable I went back to my room and decided a bath would be a better option. The bathtub did not plug so it would not hold water the towel rack behind the door was broken. And to top it off my room was next to a conjoined room so whoever was in the room next to me kept jiggling the handle all night. I called the restaurant in the hotel so I could order without having to leave the hotel at all couldn’t get a hold of anyone so after 2 hours I just let to go somewhere else. When I checked out, I told the front desk staff they were nice and apologetic One even said she was pretty sure she knew who the gentleman was in the pool. I had issues with which means it’s an ongoing problem. They did absolutely nothing. It was horrible. Stay super stressful and on relaxing wouldn’t recommend anyone stays here not worth a cent. I was externally uncomfortable and did...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Concord for 2 nights last weekend while visiting family. On the morning after our first night's stay, I noticed that the toilet was not flushing properly. I tried flushing it a few times and then it began to overflow. We called h the front desk, and the response time was fantastic for the cleanup, but they didn't actually fix the toilet., We had a time commitment and really needed to shower and get ready to leave. I was told they had a full house and that there was no room to switch us to. It was suggested we use the locker rooms, but I did not feel that was suitable. After insisting, we were given a room key to an unoccupied room so that we could shower while they fixed the toilet. Unfortunately, the toilet was not fixed and continued to incompletely flush, necessitating that we use the lobby bathrooms for the remainder of our stay. At checkout, I told the front desk that I was extremely disappointed that the toilet was not fixed. I felt cheated that we paid $688.00 for a room for 2 nights and didn't have a working bathroom. The front desk told me that notes regarding the incident had been written and would be given to Kristen Molina, the General Manager. I was assured she would call me on Monday to attempt to rectify the situation. On Monday at noon, I called Kristen. She did not return my call. On Monday night, I emailed Kristen, She did not return my email. On Tuesday I am writing this review. I am very disappointed in the response of the manager and I don't believe I should have to pay almost $700 for a room that had no...
