It's very quiet and low-key here. The building is so beautiful and the exhibits are interesting and well displayed. You can get very close and get a good look at the things on display, which is great because some have very fine details that are wonderful to experience up close. The staff was friendly and helpful in answering questions I had. There are beautiful paintings all over the building to lose yourself in. Some of the paintings of scenery are massive and really transport you to the settings shown.

The docent during our visit was wonderful. Full of information and and really kept us entertained. Very beautiful inside. He shared a fascinating story behind the marble and some of the archways, so be sure to ask about those.

It was here that I learned Geddy Lee is actually a woman, born 200 years before Rush's first album was released. Maybe that's why he's such a good musician, lots of time to practice. Don't believe me? Look at this painting

The New Hampshire Historical Society is a captivating gateway into the state's past. Its well-curated exhibits and vast collection of artifacts provide a comprehensive view of New Hampshire's history. From colonial times to contemporary issues, the museum delves into various aspects of the state's culture, economy, and social fabric. The staff's expertise adds depth to the experience, offering valuable insights during guided tours and interactions. The Society's commitment to education is evident through engaging programs and events for all ages. However, limited interactive displays might leave some craving more immersive experiences. Membership offers benefits like access to exclusive events and resources. Overall, the New Hampshire Historical Society serves as an essential resource for anyone intrigued by the state's...

My experience at the NH Historical Society Library was less than satisfactory. The staff is accusatory and treats their patrons as if they are better than them. The staff enforces the library rules in a demeaning way. I have been reprimanded several times for minor infractures such as using a pen in my own personal notebook and having other personal posessions inside the reading room. The library asks a lot of it's patrons but gives little back in return. If you can avoid this particular library, do so. There are many other libraries in the area that could provide you with a more helpful and...
