Lovely space. Friendly staff. Nice exhibitions. (Hence, the star)
But be very careful if you sign up for a series of classes (not inexpensive). Surprisingly there are ZERO evaluations of class instructors to review ahead of time (although the Association has been asked, repeatedly, to please do that.) So you really take your chances.
I wonder how many prior (or future) students had (or will have) similar disappointing (very) experiences like mine.
I felt beyond ripped off (“teacher” was truly self centered - the class heard ALL about his divorce, his art school (which he continually told us was unaccredited - like I care ?) , his late fathers estate, his trading of his paintings for fish in his town, etc etc, ad nauseum etc., but no solid instruction on technique, color theory or craft) He used every class to “demo” (paint his own pictures) that he later sells at his gallery (and if you whisper or your watch beeps while he’s painting he yells at you - ok Leonardo….)
I imagine he has his cadre of fans ? but I’ll NEVER take another class there -unless they provide student reviews (like The Concord Umbrella...
Read moreWe were so honored to host our wedding party at the Concord Center for Visual Art. I cannot express enough our admiration for the venue's historical character, current artwork on display and staff for the special evening. Siri the venue host was very helpful with any questions and at the end of the night making sure we had everything. It was truly the perfect setting for our party. Ample space for the 60 guests in attendance. The caterer Susan Lane Events coordinated great with the Center's team. Our guests enjoyed the space for dancing, food, and beverages. Thank you again...
Read moreExcellent space with some great art and a very friendly staff. It has a cozy feeling, and there is the sense that one is on an art expedition as one roams around the various rooms on both floors. It's very close to the center of Concord, and it's a short ride on the Commuter Rail from Boston. The $10 weekend pass on the Commuter Rail makes this an even more affordable trip. There is also some great foliage on the 10-minute walk from the Commuter Rail stop...
