I don't even want to give them a star at all!!! Very disappointed with the service here!!! I will NEVER buy ANYTHING from them again. I went in a day or 2 before Christmas and bought 2 Nintendo 2ds mario bundles. 2 ds games, t-shirt, xbox game, tamagotchi, and 2 plushies..etc. Spent around $400.00. My kids opened up the 2ds's on Christmas morning and didn't want them...(big mom fail). I told them not to worry we would return them and get them something else they wanted. I went to take them back and they would not take either of them back...because the box had been opened?!?!?! When I bought them the girl that was helping me opened the box and showed me what they looked like but when I went to return them they wouldn't take them because my kids had basically done the same thing.😳 They opened the box and then put them back in...never played them at all. I want to make sure that other parents know what they are getting into when they shop at gamestop. It was like throwing money out the window and we can't afford to do that!!! It was AWFUL and was the WORST customer service experience I have ever had!!!!!! Thanks gamestop for ruining my kids...

I've been going to this one a couple years. They seem to cycle staff a lot because of problems with a manager. It's been the same at all I've went to(micromanagement). I went to the one in Hickory for many years. In-store staff either get fired, quit from frustration, or hit the dead end of the salary and role cap.
I try to go to the small dingy used shops(typically comics&games) when I'm close to one not for a price difference which is only sometimes the case by at most a few bucks, but for the experience and to support independent business owners.

Read moreHorrible customer service from one of the employees working on 4/16/2023. The employee who rung me up was kind and trying to help as much as possible. My receipt says Kennedy so I hope it was correct (an African American woman) because she really made me feel like she wanted to help.
However the white woman working with her was horrible and condescending, not only to me but another gentleman who was in the store. Honestly I’ve had better experiences getting busted at house parties by the cops. Wish I could leave 0 stars for a specific employee.
