Nice store space, nice layout. Was immediately greeted as a newbie with a quick tour of the store. The very nice young lady working the counter let me know where I could find things quickly and told me to just ask if I needed any help.
Nice selection of new turntables for those newly initiated into vinyl and a few vintage gems for those of us who care. Off hand I would say to any collector to skip the numerous $2 bins, these are generally thrift store records (not the good ones) that can be had for $1 anywhere else. Think TONS of Olivia Newton John, Dan Fogelberg, Jesse Colin Young and Gordon Lightfoot (I'm actually a huge Gordon Lightfoot fan but already had them... and the ones that I didn't, I'll wait until they come up in my local thrift store). You can imagine what's in the $.88 bins! I skipped them entirely based on what was in the front.
Nice selection of vintage vinyl. As a visitor from VT I'm used to prices being a little bit lower but then again, there's no tax in NH so maybe it's a little bit of a wash. When I went to the counter with my selection the owner let me know there was a batch against the wall that hadn't gone out to the floor yet. I peeked through and was amazed. I'd never seen Grateful Dead records in that nice a shape before plus a batch of Japanese Obi vinyl with the sash in place. They had just got a batch in from son of a deceased collector. I imagine if you're a regular here you can be pretty well hooked up.
Overall a quirky place with a friendly staff. I turned down a few MOR lps as they were just a bit higher than I'm used to paying but overall the only decent vinyl store that I've found in NH and definitely...
Read moreIve been a customer at this business for multiple years and have never had any issues until today and very disappointed. I lost my Dad recently and unexpectedly and was excited to check out new arrivals of classic vinyl which came in recently which reminded me of him. Initially the older gentleman running the store was polite and helpful and priced out some vinyls for me. I was excited and had a stack ready to buy and was going to purchase a shirt to support the business. We had positive exchanges and things were fine. I knelt back down to look at more vinyls and called a friend to see if he wanted anything and was praising the store. It was busy and loud and lots of customers. Evidently the owner had addressed me four times to get off my phone. I didnt hear him unfortunately due to store being busy. I stood up to have him price another vinyl to my surprise he yelled at me to get off my phone and told he addressed me four times. I calmy to told him i wasnt aware of no phone policy was sorry and was actually promoting store for my friend to visit. He continued to be angry and tell me i was distracting and trying to check out customers. I was shocked that the interaction took a negative turn and was so embarrassed. I kept my cool despite being agitated at him. I put down the records and walked out. Im 46 years old and have never been treated like that in any record store. Whatever this old mans name is should learn how conduct himself more professionally and respectfully in the future. Its a shame because they have great stuff. I will not be giving them any more business in the future due to behavior...
Read moreAfter receiving a 25$ gift card from the musicians flea market held at one of the local churches in concord i stopped in at pitch fork records to see what I could find. It was pretty empty when I got there and this was in the morning. Things were going ok but about every 5-10 minutes the owner would come back up to me and ask me if I needed something.first couple times were what ever and friendly. But then I was randomly accused of stealing when he came up to me for a FORTH time. I had been there not even 30 mins I didn’t even have time to look. I had a beetles blue ray I looked at for a couple mins but put back. You told me your security upstairs saw me take it . You said and I quote “ give me my shit back” and when I showed you that it was exactly where it was when I was looking at it you got more angry and kicked me out of your store for lifetime . I’m 24 it was my first time even going to your record store and I was profiled and stereotyped. I don’t know how anyone could ever want to support a business when the owner is harassing customers and stereotyping. Do not own a record store if you don’t want people looking around for awhile and stop accusing people of stealing!! I was one of your only customers and now you got no sales. I had a gift card specially to your record store that I’m now banned from because you thought I was stealing . 0/10 I don’t recommend and besides the fact that the owner doesn’t like anyone young or different , they don’t have much selection. Go anywhere else and u will be...
