Ordered fish tacos and chips and salsa on DoorDash. They didn’t have fish tacos available as on option on DoorDash because apparently they’re limited availability. They removed them. I found this out because I called to see if they have them because I’m the taco description it mentions fish tacos. I asked if I could order some other tacos through the app and then they would just send fish tacos instead. They said yes and I was quite pleased with this.
I also asked for guacamole with the chips and salsa order in the notes specifically stating it was the only reason I was ordering the chips and salsa.
The only reason I was expecting this to be a thing was because in their own photo on DoorDash it shows two different kinds of salsa, a plate of chips and a cup of guac.
No guacamole came with the order, just a giant pile of tortilla chips and a small 4 oz cup of basically pico de gallo, not salsa.
Furthermore the fish tacos came as two tacos only when I ordered two orders. I assumed they messed up and only gave me one order so I called and asked to speak to the kitchen manager. This resulted in him telling me that HE HIMSELF thinks their taco price is too high and that the price is for ONE taco. Which btw is 4.59 on door dash. Who the hell would just buy one fish taco for that price? Even if I went there and didn’t have the DoorDash markup, what is it? Like 3.50 for one taco? 🤣🤣 I paid 9$ for two mediocre puny fish tacos made from pre made and battered fish equivalent to buying boxed gortons fisherman fish sticks and chopping it up putting it in a cold cheap flour tortilla. Not to mention they serve your one cheap taco with tortilla chips with nothing to go with them. Who the hell wants to munch tortilla chips as an accoutrement to a fish taco?
Save yourself the trouble, this place sucks and is a farrrrrr cry from any decent Mexican food. I lived 3 hours from Juarez for 5 years. Trust me....
Read moreIf you're looking for authentic Mexican Food, this ain't it. If you're looking for a tasty burrito or nachos though, right here pal. I pretty much always get the loco chili burrito, which isn't on the menu anymore, but they make it anyway which is really swell on their part. I always look at their weekly rotation of burrito or nachos of the week, some of which have been exceptionally good. They have a Street Fighter II arcade machine, which would be a huge selling point, but the controls are a bit dodgy. Either that or my Ryu game ain't what it was in the 90s, but I find that hard to believe. No way I'd get wrecked in the very first round like that. No, I rather think it's the controls that are in need of repair. Oh, and they have a bar, which is a plus. I like to get my food and eat outside when the weather is delightful. The people watching is superb, and because Dos Amigos clearly understands this, they also provide indoor window seating so you can keep watch on all the weirdos and cool dogs who occupy this little city. They say people look like their pets, but I've seen a lot of really cute dogs with some ugly people walking them, so that's probably not true. I like the seasoning on...
Read moreAfter a long day of classes, it was time to pick up something quick and tasty. First impression was that this was a cool place in Downtown Concord. The staff were pretty chill and friendly. The bright colors were eye catching and the open space was relaxing.
Of course, this was a burrito coming back to the hotel room with me. Picked out my go-to, carnitas! The pork was very good, but the rice and beans felt bland flavor wise.
There was a rescue, the choice of sauces. They were quite interesting choices. The blueberry habernero was a most excellent balance of heat and sweet, absolutely loved it on the burrito. The color was unique, making it quite the gastronomical experience! The carrot habernero had more heat to it (bring it!) and was still good, but it just didn't steal my heart like the blueberry habernero did. There was a third sauce that I grabbed, it wasn't memorable and unfortunately has left no impression strong enough to remember what it was, except that it was also good (still distant third to the other two sauces).
Did we mention free bag of tortilla chips? Yes a free bag of tortilla chips. They were a great pairing with the sauces and...
