I have been coming here for 2 years. I originally rated this salon 5 stars in 2019.
If only could rate ZERO stars I would.
Update: April 17, 2022. I came here today for a shampoo, cut and style for me and my child. $38 each for haircut. I can take that price. No big deal. What I could not take was the two stylist Lee and another man were very pushy/coercive in selling the deep conditioning treatment with Ionic Nutritive Treatment for me and the Milbon softening treatment for coarse hair for my child. My child and I both have naturally curly hair.
They both insisted and were very aggressive and high-pressure, would-not-take-no for an answer that I pay for the $30 each extra for deep conditioning. I did not want these services. I jst wanted haircut. Both would not stop asking for me to agree. I felt defeated. $30 each for a dollop of treatment. I know because I have the Ionic treatment at home. I felt pushed and had no choice as my hair was already wet. They made it as if no service would be done unless I agreed. I did not feel good about this experience. I will do my best to spread the word about this salon. The business model has changed. It's no longer about hair cutting. It's selling add-on services.
In addition, the stylist did not really listen to me. He did whatever he wanted and kept pointing out "your hair dry, thin" in broken English I imagine to justify the forced hair treatment I was subjected to.
The person in charge/cashier looked angry when I only tipped 15%. I did not care. The service was not good.
I would compare what happened to me today as akin to highway robbery. I will not be returning. I will report to Better...

Read moreI visited the salon for a regular perm, but the stylist assisting me immediately pushed the most expensive option, a digital perm. I declined and reiterated that I just wanted a simple perm. Shortly after, he turned to his colleague and began speaking about me in Fuzhou, assuming I couldn’t understand their language (but I could).
When the perm was finished, another stylist, a tall man, came to rinse my hair. The entire process felt unprofessional, and he made sarcastic comments, joking that my hair looked like “ramen noodles,” as if this was amusing.
When I got home, I was shocked to see that the perm was already straightening out!!!Even worse, I was charged $287 for what was supposed to be a basic perm. The price menu displayed on the wall clearly listed full perm services at $138–$178. This experience was unacceptable and felt dishonest and...
