4/26/24 We took our kids to the magic show. It was really just a cheap, low class comedian with constant sickening sexual jokes the whole time and profanity like the F word. Multiple families left in the beginning and if I was in my right mind I should've left with them. The magic tricks were easy to figure out even for my young boys. As the show came to an end, they advertised for their next show Cabaret. I'm through with the Albans "art" center. We tried it out, went to 4 shows so far but I will never spend another penny here.
First time: Highlights: I liked that the first row seating is very close to the stage. Multiple actresses wear sexy lingerie costumes that show their panties when they turn around. $1 can drinks and $2 candy. No drink holders so bring a koozie for your cold can. ... We arrived on Friday night to watch Clue. The doors opened at 7:30 for an 8:00 show. They checked our tickets by asking for the name and there was no wait to get in. The performance opened with a lady(Yvette) wearing a lingerie maid costume with garter belt stockings and anytime she turns around displays her panties. Next minute we met the colonel who said he would be happy to follow her into the next room. Next we meet the cook in a sexy chef costume who also displayed her panties if she even slightly leaned over. All this within the first 5 minutes before we walked out. What were we about to watch? It's like the scene was being set for an x-rated film. We stayed 5 minutes too long. We eventually watched the 1980's Clue movie which we learned(after 18 minutes before we cut it off) is very similar to the live performance we walked out of with the same sexual humor. The staff tells me that they have ratings for the performances and Clue was...
Read moreI enrolled in 2 classes, on line, beginning in August, 2018. The first class was "Introduction to Acting" & the second class was "Stage Makeup. " As for the acting class, I assumed other participants, like myself, would have no experience. Looking back I still feel this was a safe assumption since the word "Introduction" was included in the class title. I found myself to be the only one in the class with no experience & one of 3 in the class born before the millennium. Dialogue from the instructor, or substitute, for the most part was directed toward experienced students & those without experience were expected to try & keep up.
As for the "Stage Makeup " class, I was one of four students. The other three students were pre teenage female children. In this class the students often found ourselves listening to one student in particular discuss her cat or what time she had to go to bed on a school night.
Since I paid at least as much as the other students, I found both these classes to be unfair situations & was less than pleased with what I came away with. In both classes I found myself, on more than one occasion, wishing the instructor had exerted more control...
Read moreWe just moved to West Virginia from Alabama. Bought tickets for myself, wife, plus 16 & 18yo sons. Had to force the boys to go. Told them dinner depended on them going with us to see James and the giant peach at the Alban! Oh the horror! The boys have never been to a play, ever. Well. The show was great! Everyone was friendly, the vibe was laid back. Our teenage boys really enjoyed it! Even the 16yo said it was good. Highly recommend! Wanted to add one last comment. While I sat watching a group of actors having a good time entertaining us. I thought about how lucky we are to live in such a great place. I thought about Ukrainian families sheltering in bunkers. God bless America. Good luck Alban...
