So let me start off by saying I'm not the most tech savvy person out here. Last night myself and a friend went in to buy some cards and a deck box. After finding the cards on the computer and putting them on my account, and listening to the staff complain and put their boss down, its time to check out. So at this time things went down hill. After trying for six times to check out and having the guy at the counter just stare at me, I gave up! I didn't need the cards that bad. So my friend and I walked out. The whole time not a single word was said to us by the guy behind the counter. He seriously was not only willing to let the sale walk out the door but did. Again not a single word was said to us in offering any type of assistance. So we're walking out to our vehicle and a man named Julian walks up (I guess he over heard us talking about our experience). So after a conversation in the parking lot he convinces us to come back in. The first thing we notice is as soon as we walk in with Julian the guy behind the counter springs to life. His head comes off of his hands to which he was leaning on and he seemed to want to be helpful. Julian managed to find my order on the computer and got it placed. Counter guy pulled the cards as Julian stayed around and had a conversation with us treating us like he really wanted us in the store. We got our cards and shook hands with Julian thanking him for all his help. Would I go back to this store? I've got mixed feelings. On the one hand the staff I dealt with was very unprofessional and not helpful. On the other hand having a guy like Julian come along and save the experience was refreshing. I realize that my 45 dollar order wasn't much but being an out of town business man myself I do realize a couple things.

  1. I've got to give the best service I can since there is someone else out there who can't wait to take my customers.
  2. when a person walks in willing to spend money weather its 5 dollars or a 1000 dollars if you want them to come back treat them that way.
  3. you only have one chance to make a first impression.
  4. if a person walks in that you haven't seen before you need to make sure they want to come back.

Thank you again Julian because of you I am willing to give y'all...

OK, So I have recently come back to all about games after a 2 year break from it. I moved here in 2012 and started recollecting my War-Hammer 40k armies. They have what is needed and at reasonable prices. Anyhow I took the above mentioned break to recently come back. I couldn't remember what number I had used for the rewards program and created a new one while there. The gentleman behind the counter (I think his name is Ian?) was able to pull up my previous account and was going to transfer the credit to the new one. as I was purchasing some Red Dragon In Games (Addicting game by the way).

I thought all was said and done when I left. a week past and I checked the balance via the fivestars app and see it wasn't transferred like I had thought. So I went back into the store to get more Red Dragon Inn characters and to fix the issue. That same gentleman was there and took the time (literally about 20 minutes) going through past receipts to help find the one I had, which of course I didn't think about bringing mine in - Sorry for that by the way...

Anyways he was able to find the receipt and the issue... apparently someone else who shares my last name received the credit from the purchase and not me myself. So this was corrected on the spot and I remained a happy customer and finished my new purchase.

One thing I find a little disappointing however, is that All About Games doesn't offer a military discount. (-1 Star) Not just because I am a veteran myself, but in general, military folks spend more money at game stores than the average person due to deployments, barracks life, and the need to relax their minds away from the day to day struggles they face. Also PTSD can be maintained and managed through games that exercise the mind. (You can google it for proof).

Anyways, I am giving a 4 out of 5 Stars for this place as it is a great environment for people of all ages to find something to feed the urge to game and spend time with loved ones, and a staff that truly wants to helps its customers. Thank you for being awesome and providing people with something to bring families and...

The store is well-stocked with board games and card games and dice games. It's in a great location and they have many tables and lots of room to play games in the back. They're open practically all the time and are overall, inviting. The two employees I interacted with were both young, but cheerful and polite and I think were a credit to the company.

The problem I have and which I consider to be serious, is that I wandered in yesterday just to browse and looked to buy a role playing game of some sort. I saw a slipcover set of The One Ring RPG by Cubicle 7 which I'd heard a little about and it looked great. So, I bought it. Brought it home and opened it to discover that it was previously owned (slight damage along both of the books' edges) but most importantly, the two fold-out maps were gone and the slipcover itself was permanently pinched in the center, warping it out of true. I'm guessing it was warped because the second shrink-wrap job sucked too much air out of the slipcover, which then sealed it in that pinched condition and the cardboard is so thick, it will permanently be pinched.

When returning it, I was told that the game is four years old and that no new ones are available, so I did get a receipt for a refund (it hasn't hit my bank yet, but I don't think it'll be an issue).

Still -- they sold a clearly used and incomplete game as new, charging me cover price for it. There was no indication that it was previously used nor that it was incomplete.

Now, home, I checked online with Cubicle 7 and they are indeed no longer available for sale. In other words, it would have been a great find had it been actually, you know, new.

There are so many other positives to the store, but my advice is to be certain that the sealed boxes you buy there are actually new and complete. And hang on to those receipts!

So that's why it gets two stars...
