This is a slightly older but well maintained hotel in a convenient spot right off the freeway. The rooms are large for this price category, and the free breakfast includes made to order eggs which is a great touch! At check-in they offered a free beer/drink at the hotel bar between 5-7pm.
Chair in room was a little dated and weird, but the bed was very comfortable with 4 good pillows and soft sheets. TV did not want to connect to the network for Netflix/On-Demand video... I did not waste time troubleshooting it, or complain to the front desk, and just used my own tablet. This was likely just a problem with my room, not all rooms.
The bathroom exceeded expectations as it featured both a shower and a very large soaking tub. Soaps/Shampoos were of a moderate quality as I would expect at this price point. They use the large bottles for amenities in the room instead of the mini hotel size bottles, which I am OK with.
Room had a Mini-Fridge/Microwave which is critical when traveling with a young kiddo who needs cold drinks/snacks. Hotel had an indoor pool and hot tub which appeared clean and in good order. My kid enjoyed both the pool, and the soaking tub. She thinks she's a mermaid.
I was not here on a business trip, but I do corporate events for a living, and I did observe that they had a couple meeting rooms on the lowest level of the hotel near where they serve breakfast. They had a large conference room suitable for meetings for about 150-200, and a single breakout room that could support maybe 20-30. For a small conference general session that does not need to support breakout rooms, this looked to be a suitable spot, and is probably pretty affordable when compared to the convention center.
Note: When rating hotels I compare them to other hotels in the same price range, so I compare moderately priced hotels to other moderate hotels, and not to high-end luxury brands such as the Four Seasons or St Regis at 5x or 10x the price. This hotel gets 5 stars when compared to similarly priced hotels such as Marriott Fairfield or Hilton Garden Inn. The Oxford was an excellent value for the price paid, and makes a good comfortable basecamp, with some high-end touches, centrally located to...
Read moreWe stayed here the other night and unfortunately we were disappointed... we booked the room a few hours before arriving and when we arrived we thought it would be a wonderful experience. After paying almost $300 for 1 night I was expecting much more. When we checked in to our room as soon as we opened the door it smelt like someone had smoked in the room. We called the front office so they knew it wasn't us and charge is for it and yes they offered to change our room but it was already 11pm at night and all we wanted to do was take a shower and go to bed. Well the shower was fine but there was a dirty glass left in the bathroom and the shower could definitely use a better clean, there was hair in the bathtub as well. Then we go to get in bed and the sheets felt so gross they needed to be thrown away there was balled up scratchy sheets used to many times. Then before getting into the bed I felt something hit my foot and there was trash left in the room. At this point I was so upset I just wanted to sleep. Woke up walked over to the couch without anything on my feet and felt this nasty hard crunchy spot by the couch.. don't want to know what that was. I work in the hospitality industry and would not rent out a room like this. The breakfast is nothing special super basic and when we go there at 7am all the hot food was already gone. Very disappointed in what we recieved especially for the...

Shannon at front desk was kind and a blessing to my long travel day, from setting up my ride to the hotel and checking me into a beautiful room.
Anthony the assistant GM, was friendly and took time to visit and make sure my stay was going well whenever I seen him.
Jim at Social Hour is awesome!! Truly a great guy. Positive, professional and loves his job! He ended both my long days with life stories and belly laughs. Plus, his service was excellent and he took time to make each guest feel welcome.
Greg was the shuttle driver and was excellent as well! He was kind, helpful and a genuinely great guy who loves his job and all the people he meets. Great tips on Boise area and conversation overall.
I highly recommend this place to stay for its safety, clean rooms and exceptional staff that treat each other more like family than coworkers and all of them conduct themselves in profession manner.
It’s located close to the airport and great places to eat within walking distance. Several restaurants located in the same lot as the hotel and more across the street. So nothing is too far from the front door. *Important as the hotel only serves breakfast (heard it’s excellent so I will try on my next stay:)). Social Hour is in the evening. *Note, it does have a 24 hour store in the lobby that is clean and well stocked, so you won’t...
