The day I had the opportunity to visit this bird shop, I have always bought in several poultry stores and each store is different and special... we must know that there are REALISTIC people WHO KNOW ABOUT BIRDS and, on the other hand, there are people who are IGNORANT, ENVIOUS AND PEOPLE WHO WANT THE BIRDS AND THE PRODUCTS FOR FREE!!! Now I entered the store as I usually do sometimes, I could notice that the employees continue to sweep and clean the remains of the seeds that the birds throw on the ground, I noticed that there was a MACAW that had run out of food and suddenly they came to fill his bowl in which I kindly asked them how many times a day the birds eat, to which they kindly answered me that 3 or 4 times a day it seemed perfect, I saw the water bowls and it was seen that today they had changed their water, talking about the smell In the store it is important Mention that the bad smell is due to the poop of the birds that do their needs many times a day and it is important to mention that the poop of any living being does not smell like fresh roses, the POOP smells like POOP... and it is admirable to know that store workers clean cages and store floors every day, with the price of birds and toys we must be aware that they are high prices! It's because everything goes up in price, as well as, the food we consume, the gasoline and the bills that we must pay, that's how it is everything goes up in price that's how it is, today I could observe that they have new babies, Quaker, Indian Rigneck and other birds and I saw them healthy, obviously, if they are babies, you should know that at every moment they poop, but it's important to know what day by day they do their cleaning maintenance, I really admire the work they do here humanly, you have to be too realistic to realize that you are in a poultry shop and not in a flower shop I realized that a person who was in the store today and got angry, cursed the owner and his employees just because they didn't give him the discount he wanted, you have to realize that there are many people who want everything for free (IF YOU WANT A PET BIRD YOU MUST KNOW THAT NOTHING IS FREE AND THAT A PET BIRD COSTS MONEY BECAUSE THERE ARE UNGRATEFUL PEOPLE WHO WANT EVERYTHING FOR FREE) THE OWNER OF THE PLACE 99% of the time gives very good discounts and I don't complain that they do the best for their customers and For the birds... but people want everything for free and speak ill of the business, all out of anger because they don't do...
Read moreLOST MY BIRD AND ALMOST SOLD IT no matter how bad you need someone to take care of your bird bringing them here will be the biggest mistake if you love ur pet. i brought my bird here twice the first time was okay but the second time when i came back i went to the back where they keep the boarded birds and he wasn’t in the cage he originally was in another bird was in there. i had been freaking out while they were telling me when they were giving him his food he had flown out. mind you the place is not very big so unless he flew outside i’m not sure where else he could’ve gone. they took me to a cage full of the same species has him (green cheeked conure) that they had been breeding to sell and asked which one i thought was him (THEY ALL LOOKED ALIKE). they had told us if we didn’t find him we could choose any bird at their shop… but we wanted ours not a new one. it wasn’t until we realized their was only one bird that was hidden in the corner clearly stressed and that’s how we knew it was our romeo. they gave us time to figure out if it was him or not when we took him home and took him a few days to start talking again and we knew it was him after that. The only thing they had offered us was the bare minimum of not paying for his stay (which we wouldn’t have paid for even if they didn’t offer it) but also a free bird toy coupon!!!! which they never sent to us.. if you love your bird do NOT bring your feathered friend to...
Read moreLike any exotic pet store, it's not perfect, but my wife and I had a positive overall experience during the process of getting our baby caique. The birds are relatively pricey, as one should expect for exotics that live 30-80 years, but they take very good care of their babies. The store is small and cramped - there's no getting around that - but the selection of supplies is surprisingly robust. Ed and the staff are knowledgeable and will sit and answer any question, so long as the store isn't too full (which it can be at times, so don't expect a quick in and out). Most importantly for us, after we put down a deposit, they allowed us to socialize our baby bird whenever we would like during store hours, so we stopped by at least twice a week for nearly 3 months and handled our specific baby for 15 minutes to an hour each time, no questions asked. We also got to know and handle a few store birds, which was really cool. This also allowed us to figure out what our caique liked in store, so we could just pick up toys and supplies as we went along. I can't overstate how helpful this was, as our bird essentially grew up with us and was fully socialized when we took her home. We've had her for nearly 5 months now and she's been an absolute gem. We also picked up two lovely canaries from ABC. Overall, I'd recommend ABC, but be aware of what you're getting into when...
