Let me start by saying that Laketown Wharf is a wonderful property! I would definitely stay there again just not at one of Zia’s rentals.
We checked in to unit 335 at Laketown Wharf on Thursday and our parking passes and pool passes were not in our room. We called Zia and about two hours later they showed up with them. I wish I was able to attach pictures to this review because our unit was filthy. With everything with Covid going around, you would think that the unit would have been thoroughly cleaned, however it was barely cleaned. Literally the only thing that the cleaning company did was change the linens. There was trash behind the furniture, crusted pieces of food on the carpet, the toilets had splatters of fecal matter in them, there were clumps of hair in the bathroom, and the faucets all had dried toothpaste on it. Thursday evening I reached out to Zia and let them know and they said they would send the cleaning people out the next day if we wanted. Great. They came the next day around noon while we were out, we came back to the unit and the only thing they had done was vacuum the carpets poorly and cleaned the toilets. The hair clusters were still in the bathroom, faucets were still nasty, food still on carpet in living room. The manager never reached out to me to follow through on the cleaning. At this point we were only there for two more days and barely in the room as is, so I was just going to drop it. However Sunday morning, I had my toddler down for a nap when a lady busts in through the front door and wakes her up saying that she’s the cleaning company and we were supposed to have checked out. Our rental was until Monday. I called Zia and let them know and went ahead and told them the other issues. The girl I spoke with said that she would tell her manager and they would be calling me. About two hours later I got an email from Steamboat Rentals saying they would be calling me shortly. Five hours after that I still had not heard from them so I emailed them back saying I was awaiting their call. I got a hateful message back saying that they were finishing check in’s and they would be calling. Well it is now Monday afternoon, and I have yet to receive a call from Zia or Steamboat or anyone. Renters beware as they are not a good rental company. They have no follow through and you will be staying in a dirty apartment.
Like I said above, Laketown Wharf is a great property, the only complaint would be that the elevators are really busy so you do have to wait a while to catch one. But we took the stair the majority of our stay and it...
Read moreMoondrifter unit 703. I read some negative reviews before booking giving them the benefit of the doubt. Boy, was I wrong. The place wasn’t cleaned, it was straightened up before the next guest. Enough sand on the floor to build a sandcastle. Sand on furniture, bar stools and to my surprise in the bed which leads me to believe that these sheets were dirty and no broom to sweep it up. The dryer in the unit was broken and the property manager knew that and failed to let us know. So a beach trip that we purposely packed light for- we were SOL. The “solution” to this was them bringing us new towels. And a broom. We were told “these things happen” about the dryer. Every problem renters before had mentioned has not been handled. Mold still on the shower curtains and all around the caulking on the tub and shower. Someone’s gob of hair on the bathroom floor. What I’m assuming was egg yolk was stuck to the floor in front of the stove. Crayon markings on the walls. The bedrooms are joined together and the second bathroom is so far away from the bedrooms it makes no sense. Currently driving home in dirty clothes and I have never been so disgusted with a rental company. I’m sure one of the employees will comment shocked and saddened to hear this news. Generic response.
Highly recommend that you go with another rental company if you are looking to rent from ZIA Vacation Rentals. We stayed at the Grand Panama Resort 2-202 May 30th-June 2nd 2022
Upon entry of the unit, we were hit with an extremely strong smell of urine….powerful enough to make someone (all three of us) extremely nauseous. We attempted to find the source of the smell and come to find out, the rug laid down in the living area was drenched with urine. Not only was the rug filled with urine, all of the throw pillows were contributing to the smell as well. As we walked through the rest of the unit, the bedding was not fresh…there was sand left over in the sheets. There was urine on the bottom of the toilet that had not been cleaned. And the tile had this disgusting film on it that led to our feet becoming BLACK in a matter of minutes. The master bedroom had terrible lighting, which may be intentional as to not see the flaws in the room. The patio furniture cushions were black and filthy.
We did call Zia’s Vacation Rentals in hopes that they could rectify the issues. We were told that they could send the housekeepers back out but that they were unable to give us any sort of reimbursement which was quite unfortunate because how the unit is depicted on the internet is NOTHING like it was in person.
The housekeeping team did come back out…change the bedding, remove the urine-filled rug, re-mopped the floor (which honestly didn’t help) but the urine smell did improve. We considered leaving because of how nasty the unit was but ended up deciding to stick it out because we’re not in the position to be able to throw away all of that money.
It was a very unfortunate situation that we’ve never experienced before and I highly recommend anyone wanting to use this rental...
