There's so much good and bad with this place, so let's start with the bad...
$55 for this course is insulting. The guy working the pro shop is a jerk. Conditions on this course as of 2/28/23 are average at best, ESPECIALLY for a vacation destination (although, I have experienced worse in PCB). No personal coolers for a public course is dumb... but then CHARGING to rent a cooler??? Ridiculous.
Now for the good...
Short & fun course, yet challenging. The views are amazing and the scenery is above average. I see some reviews saying they charged "out of town people" some kind of extra fee or increased rate... I did not experience that and they didn't charge me more for letting my wife ride along as a non-player. Pace of play was good for a short & busy course. All the other staff (bar/grill, marshall, starter) were very kind & professional.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this golf course especially for anyone that couldn't get into Bay Point. We had a nice time, played a fun course and met some amazing people.
And while the bar/grill was very reasonably priced, it REALLY grinds my gears that they charge you for "cooler rental" & this is NOT a $50 course. Take some time to admire the views when you play here... especially...
Read moreWe are locals and there are not a ton of options for casual play. We have had groups at Signal MANY times for years now. Today was probably one of the worst experiences we have had here. The grass on the greens was high, some of the tee boxes were literally just dirt with no grass, the course was riddled with holes and mushrooms, and to top it off…. On hole 8 in the middle of a very busy morning the lawnmower was out on the fairway. He would not move for us to tee off so we skipped and went past him to drop and play from the fairway. I am not kidding when I say the lawnmower literally rode up on us and in front of us very loudly while we were trying to play after we had skipped teeing off because he wouldn’t move or stop in the first place. It pissed my husband off so bad we skipped the hole entirely. Like I said, this was in the middle of an extremely packed busy morning on a holiday weekend and it made NO sense to have lawnmowers out in the fairway on holes where golfers were playing. They just had no golf courtesy at all. Anyway, I’m sure we will be back because we live here but it was just an extremely...
Read moreWas in PCB on family vacation this past week and scheduled two tee times, one for Monday morning and one for Thursday morning. Had to wait an 1.5 hours on Monday due to lightning within 10 miles but it didn’t rain, played nine holes then the lightning/rain started. They did refund us for 9 holes which we appreciated (hence the 2 star rating). However, rain came in Wednesday night and we had an early tee time, got to the course and it was closed. They didn’t call/text us or email us saying it was closed even though when you book a tee time, you input your email and phone number. So we booked a tee time for Friday morning, it rained again Thursday night and a little early Friday morning. I called before we left and they said it was closed. I know Legacy was open because we drove by there. Luckily I called since no one contacted us or we would have drove there again. We were staying not even a mile away, which wasn’t bad. I feel sorry for people who drove 30 min to an hour, got there and realized it was closed. If there was one thing I would recommend, it’s better communication from the course and maintenance...
