I've been to this driivng range a number of times over the years since I live nearby. It's incredibly convenient and despite the weedy nature of the grass area (i.e. non golf grass species), it's a decent practice facility. I don't hit off mats so I can't really speak to the quality. There's no real short game area, but plenty of targets to practice your full swing. Additionally, my interactions with the people who keep this place running has always been positive and professional.
There are unfortunately a couple of problems in my estimation. Problem 1: It's very odd for a business associated with golf (especially a practice facility) to open so late in the day each day (11am or noon depending on the day). This timing makes sense in the late fall/winter months because of low temperatures, but not during the peak season when temperature isn't an issue.
Problem 2: More recently, I've experienced arriving at this facility during business hours (on a number of days, including today) and not being able to hit balls because the place was closed or because balls are being picked up on the range. It doesn't make any sense for a business to not be able to perform transactions and service customers during business hours. Can you imagine the KFC next door being closed during the lunch rush because they were performing routine maintenance on the fryers?? Pick up the balls before of after business hours OR invest in a cage to protect the driver picking up the balls so that you can do so doing business hours without disrupting service. This is standard practice at nearly every other driving range I've ever been to.
I can understand when a business has to raise prices in this economy . . . I cannot understand a business creating conditions that turn away paying customers in this economy. Long time...
Read moreFor me it is a great place to practice. Hitting of the mats that are newer then most places in town. You can also hit off grass which is a mix with weeds but works just fine. But the golf balls are newer and well cared for by the staff. They have some of the better prices in town. The ownership and staff are the main reason I prefer this driving range over the rest. I am welcomed with smiles and hellos. I wonder who is happier I am hitting golf balls me...
Read moreThe owner is very nice, the covered range bays are nice in the summer Georgia heat, and the prices are very reasonable. The only reasons it doesn't get a 5 is 1) the range balls are old and some don't necessarily fly true or might have cracks and 2) There's no chipping/ area, just a strange artificial turf section in the parking lot. Despite these issues this place is great and convenient when you need a little...
