Charles Nusinov & Sons Jewelers — Attraction in Carney

Dropped a ring off for sizing on a Friday afternoon at lunch. Was told that they'd have it done in less than a week, the following Thursday rolled around, still no call, so I gave them a ring. The gentleman who answered was rude to me when I said I was checking on my ring, without even checking, he said if we didn't call, it isn't done. I said, could you please check the status as I was told it would be done in less than a week and tomorrow is a week. He says nothing and just puts me on hold. He comes back 4 minutes later staying it wasn't done. I again asked how long it would be, again stating what I was told for the completion timeframe I was given. He said maybe tomorrow, but we'll call when it's done. At this point, I'm upset that it's not completed in the timeframe I was given but said ok. The following day, still no call. At 510pm, I give them a call again to check the status because they now would be closing in less than an hour, I advised if it wasn't started that I just wanted to come pick it up and get refunded, the associate put me on hold and checked. She came back after 6 minutes stating they were just finishing it up, that they needed to check all the stones to make sure everything was tight and I could pick it up, with a bit of an attitude. Since it only takes about half an hour to size a ring, they obviously waited until the last minute to complete it. I worked in jewelry, including being a jeweler who did such things as sizing and stone setting. This, to me is unacceptable. The only good thing I will say is that my ring fits now and the associate who assisted me when I picked up was the nicest interaction I had through this entire process. I don't recommend using for these services unless you have no time frame that you need your piece back.

*Revising review - lost multiple stones after sizing...within a week or so...they made it right by replacing the missing stones and making sure all was secure before returning to me...it's been a year and stones are all still in...

I will preface this by saying, the quality of work I received on my item was totally acceptable. I am rating as 2 stars for the lack of customer service.

On 1/17 I dropped a stone off to be set. The setting had to be ordered, and it would be ready on 2/5. No big deal. On 2/6 I stopped in, assuming it was ready since no one called to tell me otherwise. Two ladies then had to "find" my item. Which not a great choice of words, but is the store that disorganized that you do not know at any given time where something is? After "looking" for a few minutes a woman with a thick accent came over and abruptly said it's not ready that's why we didn't call you. Ok? if there was a delay, I was not made aware? The lady said she would call me when the jeweler got back in, and well she never did. I called before closing that same day and a gentleman was able to atleast verify my item was there. He could not say when it would be ready though? Again what is the lack of organization here?

I waited a day and called again. Same gentleman answered and checked with jeweler. Stating that the part "just came in". A few hours later it was ready.

I just feel like the customer service is seriously lacking. Even just walking in, they don't really greet you or act eager to help. I wanted to support a local business and really it fell flat. I think my item was forgotten, more than once, and if I was made aware it would not have been a big deal. I shouldn't have had to do so much...

I just had ANOTHER EXCEPTIONAL experience at Charles Nusinov's Jewelers last week. I came in to price diamond solitaire earrings and ended up with a larger pair than I could have ever possibly imagined!!!! Valeriya could not have been more accommodating and even managed to obtain a fantastic discount for me!! I NEVER EVEN asked for one! What a gem! Jenn has become a friend of mine since coming to Nusinov's. She is very knowledgeable and takes time to answer my questions after examining stones under the microscope for me. There is never any pressure to buy. You are made to feel welcome and special. I came in to make a payment on my layaway and ended up engaging in delightful conversation with a friendly male associate. He was proudly wearing exquisitely fine jewelry that I couldn't help but notice and comment on. Now THAT gentleman is a walking advertisement for men enjoying and revelling in jewelry just as much as the ladies do!!
