I was never greeted by the 2 associates upon entering the store. However, when the 2 customers entered behind me they were immediately greeted and offered assistance in Spanish. This is near F11 MIA airport. I continued to browse the store. The female associate advised the male associate in Spanish that I was in the back. SURPRISE I SPEAK A LITTLE ESPANOL! The male associate came to the back and still never spoke or offered assistance. He just followed every move i made. If I had the time I would have sprayed every scent and walked a mile thru the store. He followed me until I exited the store and then turned his attention to a new set of customers. Newsflash...NOT EVERYONE STEALS. YOURE NOT THE ONLY TWO WHO SPEAKS SPANISH. AT LEAST SPEAK AND OFFER ASSISTANCE, INSTEAD OF BEING A LURKING CREEP.

Just had an extremely terrible experience at this store Duty Free Americas in Miami International Airport. Surprisingly the employee (LEWIS) turned out to be a supervisor who not only ignored me while I was waiting in line to cash out (rushing for a flight nonetheless), LEWIS then ushered another customer, who was not in line, to cash before me, and when he finally waltzed over after chatting with the cashier who also ignored me, he gave me attitude and then waltzed off in his little blue blazer like he was the most important person in the world. This supervisor LEWIS needs to go. There were other helpful polite employees at the store but with a supervisor like this people need to stay away from Duty Free Americas. There are other options with better customer service!

Prices are not very interesting. The personnel attention is a disaster. My friend and I lost 45 minutes while they were ticketing the stuff we buy, wrong codes for sales and discounts, it took one supervisor and other two staff to finish the payment which we had to do 3 times. I really don’t recommend to go there.

The workers here are incredibly entitled. Yes, there’s a sign that says they don’t sell to domestic travelers — I get it. My flight was delayed, so I had time to browse. That’s not illegal. But from the moment I walked in, I was followed like I was up to something.

One of the employees even whispered in Spanish, “Watch out for her
doesn’t look like she’s gonna buy anything.” Joke’s on her — I understood every word. When I asked a question in Spanish, she immediately asked where I was traveling. I told her domestic, and she just kept repeating, “We can’t sell to you,” with a tone that was unnecessary and rude. I wasn’t trying to buy anything — just had a simple question about a fragrance.

They make you feel like you’re not even allowed to look unless you’re traveling internationally. They stare you up and down like you’re a threat. Not everyone is trying to steal, and frankly, some of us probably make more in a week than she makes in a year.

And let’s be real — some of those products looked shady. Missing serial numbers, questionable packaging
makes you wonder if the “no domestic sales” policy is really about taxes or something else they’re trying to avoid.

Even if you are traveling internationally — save yourself the time and shop somewhere reputable. Just look at all these reviews. This place...

If they at least would price-match other duty free stores you could consider that it isn’t designed to substantially feed off of the emotion of “not paying duties or taxes.” However, this just isn’t how it works. Their one-track mind flourished being in an industry where airport concession contracts are awarded under revenue-sharing business models, coupled with exclusivity clauses, in post-security areas where the customer is pressed for time and has a flight to catch (they have you CORNERED/you are putty in their hands!) - and this is what they think of you đŸ§»đŸšœ!!! My advice: check the destination to see if they have duty-free-on-arrival (many countries do) and check what their prices look like by running a Google search on the operator at the destination airport. For example, World Duty Free at Mexico City Int’l Airport had a deal where buying two 1l bottles of Baileys, you’d get them for $18.50 each
.but don’t be complacent as true deals are hard to snag at many duty free stores around the world - they focus on passengers from countries where taxes are much higher than in the USA, and often don’t often in the true savings to the end-buyer.

Reaching out to their corporate office yielded little - only a clear image that the higher-up’s want it to be this way and that it...
