Fancy Fruits & Produce — Attraction in Alafaya

Some of their prices are good; for example, the huge bags of rice ($10.99), Goya tomatoe sauce 5/$2.00), plantains (SWEET ONES 2/$1.00), RED PEPPERS (USUALLY $2.99 ELSEWHERE, COSTS 69 CENTS EACH).

Effort should be made to keep the store a bit cleaner and more organized internally.

The exterior of the establishment looks like it could use some power washing and then a fresh coat of paint. The parking lot also needs to get some sort of landscaping done.

When one drives by the place, the place always seems to have customers going in and out. Because of its external appearance, it took me well over a year to give it a chance.

So I went in, and to my surprise, the prices were so-so.

I really prefer an establishment whose owners hire a specific group of people to keep all areas of the store (in and out) super clean...

Amazingly I was hassled at the front door while waiting for a taxi. I had a basket Full of groceries and was told I could not lean on pallet of squash while waiting. The security person was rude and treating me like I was a homeless person. I tried to explain I had a cart full of groceries but he continued to tell me I only had so much time before he would call the police. I then dialed the office and the manager came out explaining she could not help. She did say that at times like this they offer a chair to people in need at which point their security person lied and said he offered that. This grocery chain has a high volume, and it's easy to see why once you look at the fresh produce and their prices. This is our family's go-to for veggies and fruits. They also have various cuts of meat, some of which are adventurous for the average cook, but all at great prices.

There's only one complaint. My family likes this boneless skinless chicken less than other stores. Other than that, everything here is top-notch, fresh, and affordable.

P.S. We bought an apple because our son grabbed it and bit it. We regularly buy apples at other stores, but this was THE BEST APPLE we've had in months. That's the quality you can expect from Fancy...
