I have probably spent a few hundred here, I was very excited to have a cool local game/card shop. Unfortunately each visit they seemed to change the rules in place to favor the store more and more, which is somewhat understandable as a business. Still, somehow each visit I felt like I would leave feeling like they were upset with me asking questions to understand the changes and try to make sure I am getting a decent deal. All of their product seems to be priced “at market”, even stuff currently available and in production. I understand things out of production being priced so, but not stuff readily available and in current production. Plenty of card/game stores don’t do this, it’s a choice. As other comments mentioned, they are more of a “scalper” store than anything. I had high hopes but was unfortunately let down visit after visit. The final straw was when they blocked me on socials for posting the price of a recently released product. In my opinion I wasn’t rude about it, I just posted what the price was, they even said the price themselves in their story (84.99, I said $90 because after tax it’s $90.94). They responded to my comment that I was wrong and blocked me. Unfortunately I don’t think I will be stopping by again.
You don’t remember the social media interaction, but you have no problem insinuating that my comment was “lacking positivity” or “negative”, I truly do not appreciate that. I simply stated the price, was told I was wrong, replied that it was never my intention to spread misinformation and apologized, then got blocked. I guess I should have...
Read moreEdit 2: Yes I saw that they replied. They are dishonest and always will be. Yes they do have a loyalty program never said they didnt, but its extremely low not even worth it at this point, credit cards have better rewards programs. And their competitive prices? Ive found other stores for cheaper and I go there now. And launch days? Dont get me started. They used to tell you what number they had and the prices. Now they keep it all a secret so that people wait hours outside just to find out that they have limited stock and they waiting for nonthing. They have a discord and questions about launches will be ignored or avoided. It is greatly upsetting that people who work there get first dibs. The majority of cards are already sifted through and the good cards are gone. First review - Amazing! Got amazing pulls from the fairly priced and readily available sets! Even an area to play and a bar at the back? EDIT : oh god. Idk what got into them in the last 8 months but prices have gone up on everything. They used to have a reward system that was 100 points (1 per dollar spent) you get $10 back... then it was $5... now its $1. And you can't even use your rewards on specific items and you can't use more than one reward dollar per item. They truly have become quite greedy saying they needed to lower the reward system because of "Fair Pricing" but almost everything they have is over market. I think I've spent enough money here. Still love Pokémon so ill be shopping at their "overpriced...
Read moreI’ve been coming to Geek’d for a while now, and Carlos has always been the person I end up speaking with. He’s consistently helpful, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to, someone who clearly cares about what he does and the people who walk through the door.
Since I started attending the One Piece tournaments, our conversations turned into real connection. Carlos has become more than just a familiar face, he’s become a close friend. He puts genuine effort into creating a welcoming and engaging environment for everyone who shows up to play.
Geek’d isn’t just a game store, it’s a place where community grows, and Carlos plays a huge part in making that happen.
One thing I’ll note is that the supply of One Piece cards can sometimes be limited. It’s definitely frustrating at times, but I also know it’s not from a lack of effort. The team there is constantly working behind the scenes to get more product in, and they’ve been upfront about their challenges. You can tell they care and are doing everything they can to support the...
