I am not a vegan, but I do enjoy eating delicious meatless options. To give you some background, my significant other is a vegetarian, so we have eaten at many vegan places. The prices are about average for good vegan food, but this was average at best and not worth it. The kitchen was understaffed, I'm assuming, because it took about an hour and a half for two of the 4 dish vegan combo meals. I feel bad for the waitresses. One of the customers, that was there before us, left before her food was done, because the kitchen took so long, and it's probably not even the singular chef's fault. The eggplant katsu was good, the only dish that I would get again; the sweet and sour chicken was okay but it didn't have much flavor in the sauce, but nothing to write home about; the chik'n fried rice was okay, again, not much flavor; the fake tuna roll was bland as well, and the teriyaki chicken was good, the vegetables were cooked well, but the protein could definitely have been better. Overall though, there really wasn't much flavor, I don't think I will go back there and I thoroughly enjoy trying this type of food. Also I do not think they should call themselves a vegan eatery as they serve meat as well. I have a feeling a lot of the good reviews are from people who have not tried much food of this category or people eating from the different menu with meat on it. I wish them success, but this type of food is what makes meat eaters like me to have a disdain and hestitance for...
Read moreWe received a wonderful take out meal from VLC, for their Valentine's day special! Their vegan sushi rolls were amazing, as were the entree noodles, fried brussel sprouts, and thai tea it came with.
Thanks for the great meal!
Overview: Great food (vegan and omni-approved!) Nice location in an interesting shopping center They're carryout (curbside) only right now (we made a picnic date out of it), so you have to call to place your order and also call when picking up
I'm transitioning to eating mostly vegetarian and also dairy-free at this point, and I'm trying to eat more plant-based meals even when I dine out. I really enjoyed their food, and would be happy to try VLC again!
My boyfriend (who is definitely an omnivore, though loves to try all kinds of different foods anyway) said it was probably the best vegan food he has ever tried from a restaurant! We haven't tried many fully vegan places in the area yet, but good to know we have at least one good option. He really loves sushi, too (normally the kind with real fish), but was very pleased with their vegan sushi rolls!
The location is in a nice shopping center with plenty of other stores and restaurants to look at too, which was super convenient because we accidentally got there half an hour early for our pickup time. There was a Home Depot in the shopping center, which we needed to...
Read moreThis was phenomenal. I’ve been vegan for 3 months and I was invited by a friend who isn’t vegan and we both fell in love with the food. We started off with a vegetable dumpling which was amazing as all dumplings are but the real kicker was on the main plate. I had the curry vegetable rice, eggplant katsu, and teriyaki chick’n (last one was chosen because they didn’t have a lot without imitation meat and that wasn’t spicy). The teriyaki chick’n tasted exactly like regular chicken and I hadn’t had good chicken till now (and yes this chicken was plant-based). My friend had some sweet and sour chicken and he admitted to me that it was the best he had. He had also let me try his spicy tuna roll and I also found it immensely delicious and it tasted exactly how I remember tuna tasting. Even though all the food we had were hits I have to say that the eggplant was my favorite. It was crispy like a chicken nugget but so packed with flavor that it just blew me away. And to top it all off we had a coconut-base tempura ice cream which was delicious. I’m very picky when it comes to ice cream but the coconut was not over powering like other imitation ice creams. Finally the ambience was nice. It wasn’t a super fancy place but it had a very relaxed atmosphere (pretty chill vibe). I highly recommend it especially if you have any vegan or...
