Before anything else, I want to strongly emphasize that my GF and I frequented this place for about 1-2 years. And up till recent our experiences have been enjoyable and the food and broth options are delicious.

However, as of the last two times the service has been less than desirable. In our 2nd to last visit my partner and I decided that although the food was great, our service was subpar and forced at best, and we decided not to leave a tip as we usually would. This however lead to a very embarrassing interaction with our server and she wouldn't leave our table until we put a bigger tip. Saying "You have to pay my workers or else I have to." Which only made us more confused.

After that experience my GF and I stopped going there for a bit because of the embarrassment we were forced to endure, because this usually never happened to us we checked the reviews to see if this has happened before and many others told similar stories.

Despite this evidence, yesterday my GF and I went back to see if this time would be different. However after paying our bill, I started to make my leave before I was then CHASED DOWN by our server. (who was the same as the last time.) Because of our tipping option, and asked for more. This was extremely embarrassing and super unprofessional, and they made attempts to walk away like nothing happened even after trying to communicate this issue with them. When I had enough and asked to speak to their supervisor. I was refused the option to speak to them and just told "it's okay you can go now." Deflecting the current situation and never given the chance to talk to a manager.

These experiences were very unpleasant. Issues like this were never common in the 2 years we've frequented and it happened twice with the same server. Very unprofessional. As much as it pains to say we'll most likely not be returning. Even though the food itself...

The perfect restaurant for those who want to hate seafood more than they may already. I took my seafood fanatic girlfriend to this restaurant on a date because we have always wanted to go to a hot pot restaurant. First off, the menu is very confusing on what you have to pay for and what you dont have to pay for, and the price of what you have to pay for is overpriced for the flimsy, flavorless meat they give you, but they will up the charge at checkout to a number that you never thought you would be paying. I ordered the beef and lamb, and they told me that it only needed to cook for 3-5 seconds, when in reality it took about 5 minutes. It was almost like the servers were guiding me through instructions on “How to Get Food Poisoning for Dummies”. All of the meat was like chewing plastic no matter how long I cooked it for, and for it to at least have a little flavor, I would have to drown it in their bitter soy sauce or their “famous” sauce that should be famous for grand theft auto because it might steal my stomach and drive it away from this restaurant. The ramen that was on the conveyor belt looked like frozen ramen you can buy at the grocery store, in fact, do yourself a favor and save yourself $80 and just buy all these things and make your own hot pot at home, please, save yourself. On another note, my girlfriend got a side of the clams (in which she is a clam lover), and took one bite before spitting it out and feeling sick to her stomach. I should never leave a restaurant feeling like I just made my amazing girlfriend consume a war crime. It may be all you can eat, but I couldn’t eat anything. Lets hope I dont get food poisoning or even...

”German Cockroach crawled from underneath the table…….”

We really loved this place. Our first experience was amazing. Enjoyed the setup and being able to customize our food. Me and my wife had a great date night. We sat on the high chairs in front of the conveyor belt.

We brought family with us the second time around and sat at a table this time. Again the experience was going well. We were getting towards the end and we’re thinking about ordering some sake. Then all of a sudden a German Cockroach crawled from underneath the table. As you would expect our experience was destroyed. We couldn’t even finish eating the rest of our food. This was around 8:00 PM on a Saturday. We could only assume that if there was one roach there was probably more, possibly under the table, since these tables also function as heating units for the broth. Felt a little embarrassed bringing family here. We told the waiter and even showed him the roach that we had captured and covered with a napkin. He quickly took it away and apologize. He told us that he let his manager know. He asked us if the roach had touched any of the food that was still left uneaten on the table. We said no, However we were not interested in finishing our food at this point. The manager never came to our table. We ask for our check and left.

I don’t see ourselves going back. This is a very popular restaurant that seems to be doing very well financially. The price is not cheap. You will spend $30 per person at a minimum. They should be keeping it spotless and bug free. I hope if they see this review they make an effort to clean regularly...

Food was REALLY over priced for food that you have to cook yourself, food was OK. They charged us 40% gratuity instead of 18% on all 6 people at the table, they probably do this all the time and just see who catches them for the tip, we didn’t realize it until this morning, as it was a birthday party celebration for my friend so none of us really did the math on the ticket we just trusted it was correct…our fault I guess to assume a business would be honest in The gratuity charge. Also the waiter only came back to our table twice the entire time and was hard to get refills or more meat of course because we were a party of 6 so the gratuity was an automatic 18% for the whole table so he did not have to work for it and he didn’t !! we have called the restaurant for a refund but the manager will not be there until 6 PM tonight so I have to try to call tonight to see if I can get a refund for the overcharge 40% gratuity. Would not recommend! I would recommend Kobe’s over this place for way under what we paid at this place! It’s hard to believe this was an accident as they did this to both checks at our table. Pic below for proof of overcharging us. And you can see what the 18% gratuity amount should have been charged so how did they not know they were overcharging!?!?

Note that the hotpot price has increased to $28.99 and kbbq is now $35.99. This was my first time here! I tried the pork bone broth for my all you can eat hot pot, which was very light and slightly salty. It had green onions and peppers simmering inside. I thought the flavour was light. Someone across from me got the curry base and said they couldn't taste anything, asking for another base; it's important to note that you do not get to swap soup bases. There were a variety of things to choose from! The meats were great and the sauces were interesting. You get your own hotpot with induction heat right in front of you which is nice. You also can have your pick of noodles, meats and veggies by asking for something directly or picking it off the conveyor belt that runs through the store. For $30, I felt like the food was good, but the cost was too steep. I understand with coronavirus however that supply/demand may have increased prices and that's why it didn't affect the five star rating. It's something to think about when dining here. The pork belly and beef brisket are great, especially when combining hoisin and cilantro. I liked the veggie options they had - tons of mushrooms, bean curds, dumplings, and meatballs. I recommend coming here hungry!
