I went on the gym with my daughter, that I picked up from summer camp and wanted her to sit ant wait for me. I've done it once and knowing that honestly I did not pay for an extra person, as she was walking and touching , I ordered her to sit down where I could see her and continued my work out, which was just an hour long because she,&had someone then approched me and letting me know that it is not allowed for her to be there, this same day, I would have just had other pick up arrangements for her but since she was in my itinerary, why not kill two birds with one stone? she is 11, I was looking forward to my Zumba Class, Ive been going to this gym since 2018, same location, In and out gym relationship so in my way in, I was blocked by a gentleman at the check in, letting me know that I needed guess privileged to have my daughter wait for me inside, rules are rules and it might have passed once but if it not ok, I accept and understand completely. I asked him, does that mean that she has to wait on the loby while I'm inside of a the Zumba room, by herself, he said "YES, that's correct" so I first decided to cancel the class and go back home with my daughter but then changed my mind because I was like, I'm already there might as well take the class, I went back inside, and as I was getting back he was tagged out from his position by another employee, I went to the side, next to the registration booth to make the inquiries of upgrading my membership as I would have done it anyway since Ive already made my mind about having my 3 months baby enrolled in the kids club tje month before. He proceeded to stand next to me as I was waiting next to the registration booth&this is the area where you normally go and if you want to change or upgrade your membership, right? So, pacing and waiting, because, he felt that I underminded his mighty authority, he was just waiting to give me the clapback. The gentleman at the registration was busy with a customer and I was still looking forward to my class,I asked at the other gentleman at the check in area, what does it take to have my daughter add or coming in with me all rules apply evidently,a pass or something for my daughter just for the day. Before giving the other gentleman a chance to answer he proceeded to let me know that "whatever you were trying to ask over there, (registration booth) is the same thing over here" "you managed to pass me and go overthere anyway, when I've already spoken to you and I am manager here...."not only interrupted me to make a point about something that has nothing to do with him and his bruised ego but he continued to tell me that "even if you wanted a pass for the day it cost "$20", with this condescending tone as if I could not afford it, and when I confirmed with him the sum of $20 dollars he just stated so we can move on, he now tell me "anyway you don't have guest privileges" she can't be inside and he then offered the option of the kids club just to take it back and reiterate, that this option is "close anyway" and she is underage for the pass that he previously offered without asking about her age first. As manager instead of offering me different options, it was easier for him to close ALL possibilities and opportunities to sell a bigger and more suitable package and chase us out, even the website offer free passes but confronting me was more important of an accomplishment to him. Good job ruining the experience for a brand you are...
Read moreIf I could rate this place zero stars I would... I pass by this area all the time and I was really interested in the facility, seemed nice. I’m not out of shape but I was really interested in just toning and maybe some cardio and swimming, nothing too big but I was willing to commit if I found the right gym. Came in for a tour and maybe the free guest pass just so I could try everything out to make sure I like it considering LA Fitness is more expensive. Front reception guy seemed nice but clearly had no idea what he was doing, and I don’t think he was new either. Got a few minute tour, and we sat down to discuss payment plans IF I were interested in applying for a membership. Dude didn’t even know the prices, finally the general manager came over and from the beginning I could clearly tell this dude was only interested in the sales pitch so he could get commission. Brags about signing 20 people a day and how he’s “so busy and needs to tend to the people at the front” and kept having to leave whenever I would talk....but there was nobody at the front waiting. Kept insisting he would either waive or lessen the $99 down payment fee if I signed up NOW NOW NOW TODAY TODAY TODAY but reading the other reviews I am SO GLAD I didn’t sign anything. General Manager kept making snarky comments saying “oh the employees are in shape im in shape blah blah blah” but I’m not willing to commit and I should basically be ashamed for wasting his time and not signing up right at that moment, when I was just trying gyms out to find the right one, like god forbid I test the waters for gyms. Kept trying to talk to me about how people exercise with them because they have “actual health problems” And toning and doing cardio just isn’t enough for their #1 rated top of the line gym. Kept insisting that LA fitness is the greatest gym in the entire nation and that I should be disappointed in myself that I’m not signing up with them right then and there, that people pay so much money and come in there for a reason and that I’m there for seemingly no reason. Like if that many people are “waiting for you” why don’t you go sign them up if I’m wasting your time so much by being CURIOUS about the options you have. Right in the middle of me talking he decided it would be a beautiful time to check his email considering his email webpage started coming up on the screen that they show the customers on the sales rep desk, totally Not interested in what I have to say as a possible customer. Kept asking when I’m going to sign up so I can become the newest member of LA fitness totally not willing to have any sort of consideration for me as a person, only cared about the money and signing me on. Kept interrupting me and had no interest in what I was saying at all, kept insisting they’re the best gym for a reason... Not with that customer service you’re not. Definitely disappointed in my visit here and I didn’t even do anything around the gym. Manager kept talking down to me like I had no clue what I was talking about and after all I’m just wasting his time for not immediately signing on and seemed annoyed that I even suggested a free 5 day guest pass for me to try the gym...not coming back here even with that free pass. Total disgrace to what I thought LA Fitness would be as a friendly gym service. Also forgot to mention all the classes he told me to go to were...
Read moreLet me tell you about the shitty server LA Fitness provides. First off, they lie. They lie as if they've been doing it for years. They'll sell you plans as if they're custom tailoring them for you right there on the spot for your needs. But infact when you get their booklet ever possible plan is laid out right there in specific language with price adjustments. Yet they don't tell you that, so you get left assuming that what they've given you is the only options they're have. Their rates are over priced, their personal trainers even worse. I paid for a personal trainer only to have him spend minutes with me and the rest of my session chatting with his coworkers or whatever hot girl happened to be in the same area. Now get this, I was paying upwards of 150/m. Not including the extra 50 for member ship. Absolutely disgusting. So, after having moved to a location with no LA Fitness around I continued to pay my monthly fee for six months. Not once using the service, and I finally called them up to cancel. And instead of allowing me, they told me I'd have to mail in a form that I'd have to print off. Or come in person. So I did, and I'll be damned. Only the manager could do it. And he was never in. So I come back another day, tell the receptionist I want to talk cancel my membership, I need to talk to the manager. She says sure, and asks me to sit and wait. So I did, 30 minutes later a sales rep comes to the lobby, then wanders off. 15 minutes later he comes back, takes a different customer. About 20 minutes later he comes back takes a family that had arrived AFTER I had waited 30 minutes, and goes and assist them. I'm not nearly an hour and half into this and finaly he comes to me. Only to talk to me like I'm a moron with no clue what I'm talking about, and then to finally tell me that the manager isn't even her. . . You'd think the receptionist could have told me that seeing as I asked her for the manager AN HOUR AGO. But no, so I asked for the sales reps name, he refused to give it. And mocked me for it. So I asked for pen and paper to write down the managers name and number. Which they gave me, after laughing openly under their breath, and the sales rep saying in the background about how he doesn't have to provide me his name..... let's just say I told my bank to cancel all payments submitted by them. I have paid a dime, haven't talked to them since. But if they do, they'll get a royal, "f**k off". LA Fitness is a trashy club with horrible service. Go to Planet fitness, get free classes and personal training. Way better community. And don't pay LA Fitness a dime. They'll lock you into crappy contracts and then fight you when you want to back out of it. And you'll regret ever single...
