A small mall but unfortunately there isn't much here. My first time visiting Sebring, I was interested in wanting to check this mall out and it's mostly empty. It has a cool GameStop and like 4-5 other major stores to it, and some of the department stores like Beals and Belk were surprisingly still here, but that's about it. The food court is VERY small, and there were only about 4 places at the top of my head I remember seeing food. It's got the 90s mall aesthetics and as far as I'm concerned it doesn't look like it was ever renovated after that. The architecture/aesthetics still looks exactly the same. In the 90s and 2000s, people were flocking to Highlands County for affordability and retirement and wanting to get a head start. I feel like I stepped back in time visiting Lakeshore Mall, and this mall gives me HUGE vibes of that time period. However it's not in a good, nostalgic way. It's more of just a "wow this is sad and depressing. People grew up in this mall only for it to fade away and just be another forgotten relic of a bygone era before online shopping took off". Not only was most of it abandoned, but walking around it felt surprisingly really creepy. I wouldn't be surprised if sketchy and suspicious activity happens here. I felt uncomfortable walking around here and it takes a lot to make me feel that way. No music playing, barely functioning AC, parts of the hallway barely have much good lighting, almost no people walking around. Sadly, the rest of Highlands County doesn't look much better as Sebring, Avon Park, and its surrounding towns, for as cool as they look, are run down as well as having a lot of abandoned buildings/grid areas. This is mostly an agricultural region in the inner part of south Florida . And as far as the Sebring area is concerned a lot of projects in this county look like they went unfinished and businesses went bankrupt throughout the years and 2008. While there's a surprising amount of decent shopping and dining options in Sebring, it's really sad to see these towns that once thrived a couple decades ago become In such economically miserable conditions. And the mall is just another add-on. Go to Orlando or Tampa or other regions along the coast if you want good malls. Overall it was disappointing and unless you like exploring dead malls it's not worth the long drive to visit this one. If not for some of the department stores I imagine this mall might end up closing for good in...
Read moreThe waiting area has a non inviting environment. Bathroom was maybe 75% clean🤷♀️. The gentleman who took my name and information for seating, has really great customer relation oriented service, he's the one giving the spark, don't know his name but he was the one with the different shirt. Table games for kids are affordable. Food was good, I ordered a soup, but was not hot so the flavor wasn't that tasty, but it was ok. One burger, shrimp Alfredo and golden fish were great. Also the mango sweet tea was on point👍👍. Almost finishing our food, the waiter came to offer some boxes, that was great but as well asking if we needed the check twice and I mean we just finish eating, so this kind of thing look like he was in a hurry to have us out of there; please waitres people need time to do digestion before standing up from a table after dinner. If client services could be improved and appeance of environment a little more inviting that would make it a place to...
Read moreThe Mall is very dead... once was a thriving, very busy, hustle and bustle mall. I remember back when the Greyhound Bus picked up, and let off passengers at this mall. The Lake Shore Mall is now struggling and near closing, with the exception of the remaining store merchants who stay open their. Like Nick's for Men clothing, that keeps me coming back to the mall. All the big named businesses like Sears, JC Penny, Big K mart, (just to name a few) are long gone. And too, the smaller shops like Hallmark Cards, and you know... so many other businesses left the Lake Shore Mall. Really ghostly there and kinda said state in oppose to how the mall use to be and operated. And this is long before today's high inflation and sky high prices. I hope to see this mall rebound, become lucrative and useful again. Help us down...
