I am sharing a 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment with my Sister and her dog. We moved in on August 2nd, 2024. So far I am pleased with the residents that I've met. They are very friendly and accepting of others. They are trying to get us into the various activities available (cards, talks, exhibitions, etc.). As soon as I'm settked in, I'll start getting involved. I'm also pleased with the staff, they are most helpful. The front desk attendants have helped with everything from answering questions, to helping us set the thermostat in the apartment, to coordinating my travel activities with the Van driver. The transportation guy's Anthony and Jon have been most accomodating. Getting me to appointments and picking me up as needed with great attitudes. Kenna Richards the Sales Manager has helped coordinate our move, answer any and all questions including showing me where different rooms are (exercise, 2nd dining room). The dining staff are gems. They are sometimes overwhelmed with a crush of people, but ultimately get our orders taken and delivered. The food in both dining rooms tastes great. If one doesn't care for the daily specials (breakfast, lunch, dinner), there are alternate menu's from which to order. I have enjoyed almost everything put in front of me. From what I've experienced in the past week, I would highly recommend Legacy Village at Salt River.

From the moment you walk into Legacy Village, it feels different. It is clean, smells fresh, has plenty of natural light and has high ceilings as well as a very peaceful and calm feeling and energy. The staff is outgoing and caring and you can tell they enjoy what they do. Michelle and Lisa, who have been there since they broke ground are absolutely fantastic. The value, location and staff, as well as the opportunity to live in a very beautiful environment makes me feel happy and excited for my parents to begin their next chapter as they have been married almost 60 years. The facility is brand new and built on the Salt River Pima Reservation and is aesthetically very pleasing to the eye.

My mother (89 years old) entered Legacy on March 19, 2024, after a second hip fracture rendered her unable to continue to live independently. It took several months for a care plan to be developed, so we were in limbo for some time. When one finally was created, the items on it, for which we were paying, were not being performed (e.g., no one bathed her and applied moisturizer-they waited in her bedroom and watched TV while she showered; no one escorted her to meals, etc.). No one offered assistance with her arranging transportation to her appointments (which she had trouble doing on her own), and there was no clear contact if I wished to discuss concerns with someone. At no point have staff been proactive about notifying me of issues (I live in Philadelphia), but rather I have had to ā€œchaseā€ them to find resolution when I become aware. Furthermore, the staff turnover is so high that it has been nearly impossible to identify, let alone reach, the correct staff member when I need to. By way of example, my mother is incontinent of urine and her room smelled so badly that it could be detected from the hallway. At no point did someone contact me to make me aware of this and discuss solutions. It was not until I was there on a visit, when I sent all of her urine-soaked clothing and bedding to the laundry, sprayed the hamper, overhauled her incontinence garments, ordered a new mattress, and proposed a schedule of four times daily diaper changes that this was even addressed. Even so, as soon as I left, things reverted to their previous status. I caution you against trusting Legacy with the care of...

This place is a new and clean facility but due to the terrible management and horrible food services, I would not recommend moving a loved one into this facility until they actually make some real changes. I completely agree with Tracy K's review as our experience has been exactly the same.

I have held off writing a review for months with the hopes that things would improve but sadly they haven't and I feel I need to let others know so they are not in the same spot we are in. I know many residents have moved out and more are considering it. The main reason that a lot of older people need to move into a place like Legacy Village is the simple fact that they aren't able to shop/cook for themselves or prefer not to. It's also something the residents should be able to look forward to each day. The chefs/dining service/food services have been UNBELIEVABLY bad and the fact that this continues is unacceptable. For the price they are charging the residents, it is truly insulting.

I truly hope that Legacy Village of Salt River gets their act together and fixes their management and food service issues. The property has a lot of potential and I cannot believe they are letting these solvable issues ruin what should be a much better experience for people. It has created a very negative environment.

On the positive side, the facilities/housekeeping teams have been wonderful and the rooms are very nice and bright.

If I see a change, I will make sure to update my review. Until then, I would keep shopping for another facility that would show more care and respect for their residents...
