I sincerely believe the “people” giving higher than 2 stars reviews are paid bots. Please do not come here. Granted, we did not drink any alcoholic drinks, but I don’t even think the drinks could save the food rating. First off, you have to order everything at the bar which was weird, because were you would order and pick up food there’s a register there I just don’t know if they’re short staffed maybe? Second, the food is over priced, $5 per taco is too expensive. We ordered all of our tacos on flour tortillas. Even though the flour tortillas do look like they are homemade, they are served cold and what seems to be undercooked. The portion of meat that they fill the tortilla with is shameful & embarrassing. My husband got a fish taco and a brisket taco. The serving of breaded fish was very small and overly breaded. The brisket was extremely dry and also a small portion. I got a fish taco that was exactly the same and I also got the Baja grill shrimp taco, there were maybe 4 very small shrimp and this taco. All of our tortillas were cold and hard. Our kid got the chicken tender kid meal and the chicken tenders looked like fried clam strips. They were small, overly breaded and extremely dry. I am telling you the only thing that we ordered that was good & hot was the tater tot’s that came with the kids meal. You can see from the photos that the cabbage garnish is bigger than the meat portion in the tacos. Please do not waste your money here. When we left, none of the staff asked us how our food was, so they have to know that it’s not good. We left immediately walked down the strip mall & ate at Jersey Mike’s Subs. Once again, please do not waste...
Read moreOk well this is a different review because we never even got our food… Half an hour after ordering I had to ask the one bartender/waitress if they forgot the appetizer, and that when we realized there was something wrong. I know from experience that chain restaurants like this underpay and overwork their employees, but apparently they had the entire staff quit all within the last week, leaving two brand new kitchen staff and the one waitress/bartender. The ONLY reason I’m not leaving a terrible review is because she, the waitress/bartender, was absolutely kicking butt and getting as much done as one person possibly could for a packed lunch shift. It was clear the kitchen guys had NO idea what they were doing, but huge props to the girl trying her hardest. When the owners only care about profit, this is what you get. Hate to say it, but what do you expect from a chain? I hope the owners see this and not only respond, but do something to actually support your own staff. It’s honestly pathetic you pull in profits while putting someone through that. She was almost in tears because of how rude customers were getting and it’s entirely the fault of the owners and GM. I remember my first GM position, this is...
Read moreConveniently found taco joint serves up mighty fine tacos. Excellent service, comfortable seating, with a compact but highly serviceable bar. Three salsas in the fridge: mild green tomatillo, a flavorful red that is said to be medium but is as mild as the tomatillo, and a habañero that has a reasonable flame. We tried 4 different taco types with the pork green and spicy shrimp (grilled) tacos by far our favorites. The Texican taco, their take on the American taco, was surprisingly unsatisfying: it doesn't belong with the rest of the tasty treats on their list. The brisket taco was also pretty solid. Everything was fresh. The three salsas in the fridge were tasty but surprisingly limited in scope: Rusty needs a few more options in this department to be a truly serious foodery. To be fair, they have a sign at the counter that says you can request your favorite but we're not entirely certain what that means. Perhaps more options are available midday. All in all, though, a very good experience and they are recommended: I'll bet their breakfast is also yum. Just ignore...
