Forefathers Cheesesteaks — Restaurant in Arizona

Stopped by on an impulse today for lunch, and I'm glad that I did. Food was great. Location was simple, yet nice, and very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The sandwiches are completely customized how you want them made up. You pick your protein of steak or chicken, choose what type of cheese, and choose what you want mixed in. I chose onion rings as a side, and they were marvelous, exactly the type of onion rings I hope for When I'm at a restaurant.

Because food seems to just be getting more and more expensive these days, I went with a large sandwich, because it was only a few dollars more, and I could save the second half for lunch tomorrow. Makes it a little bit easier to justify a kind of pricey lunch, if I can turn it into two lunches instead of just one. Had a cheesesteak with onions n wiz and side of fries. Sandwich tasted good I will say that. Different roll would be better. Also would have been nice to cut in half and wrap it in foil or something . Every bite was pushing the steak out the back of tha sandwich and by the time I got half way thru the bread gave out and was soggy. I dont want to eat it with a fork. We looked around and everyone was using a fork to put the meat back on the sandwich. The fries are good but $4 for the amount of fries you get not worth it to me. My least favorite is when you pay with a card they it asks you to give a tip for them just ringing it up. This Is a personal thing i just dont like. Put a cup out and let people tip if they want, but it uncomfortable when cashier is staring at you and i feel this place was already over priced to begin with. I won't be back but it...

I swung by here at the recommendation of a co-worker who is a bit of a foodie. I had high expectations but was delighted that they have ruined every other cheese steak for me. I got a large thinking that it would be much smaller then it was in reality. The portions are sizable and well balanced.

but on to the real part. This handcrafted masterpiece of top quality beef cheese and hand made fresh baked bread was the most masterful execution of a Philly cheese steak i have ever eaten in my life and will forever be the benchmark that I will hold any cheese steak to. From the first bite to the last it was a absolutely euphoric experience. I don't write many reviews because I frankly usually don't have the time. This time I made time for it.
