What a neat place to visit! We stopped in just to see what it was about and I’m so glad we did! It was definitely interesting to step back in time and watch the mill grinding the corn. Stepping onto the back deck and seeing the water that runs the mill was so beautiful. Step back inside and visit the sweet staff serving samples in the mini kitchen. I have never had Porridge and the sweet woman said ‘people stick their nose up all day long until the try it’ so I tried it. It was delicious! We also sampled the yellow grits and the cornbread. You can purchase fresh flour, grits, cornmeal, etc. They have jams/jellies, cooking and kitchen supplies, soaps and toiletry products, and much more. The best part is that in the back they have a deck that is built upon the Chattahoochee River— extremely beautiful. The trees were turning too and that, combined with the water, made it a perfect view. God’s Creation is glorious! Read moreThis place is AMAZING!!!! The charm is something right out of a movie and it is just outside of Helen which makes it a must stop destination if you are in the area. We bought grits, porridge and pancake mix from here and love it all, you can get grits like that in grocery chains. They sell everything from grits to old fashioned candy to country cook where. The water fall in the back is beautiful and a great photo op for the family. Jumping goats is the coffee shop next door..it is also a must see.
