EDIT from last year's 3 star review to the least possible stars. I should have gone with my original review of never again but friends wanted to go. Being watched like a thief while shopping for jewelry from a locked case was the absolute last straw. While my friends were checking out I told them I was going out for a smoke. While getting my things together before stepping out into the hot sun, standing near a no smoking sign I had read, the rude store employees came out to tell me there was no smoking. Come on people you are insulting. Two more strikes on top of last year's horrible experience. Absolutely. 100% NEVER AGAIN.
Lovely setting and jam packed with items. Deals were hard to find and pricing was to high for this professional shopper. I bought nothing and steered an impulsive teen shopper away from overpriced stuff. She did have a $50 pile. Because of variety I am giving a review of 3. Customer service would have been a 2. We only had time to shop 1 floor and planned to come back. We did not due to attitude. Shelves are jam packed and it is easy to bump into stuff potentially breaking it. I dropped a wooden something or another and immediately a sales person was on me. Thankfully the item was intact. I said to salesperson "I suppose you have a you break it you bought it policy?" Response.."yes we do!" The place is packed!!! Got luck maneuvering. Once again, she "heard" something and was right there...nothing broken.
Checkout...the young shopper with me forgot her credit card and asked them to hold what she had picked so we could come back later in the day or next morning. "We do not hold anything" understandable but with all the "Stuff" there holding a few items would have been great customer service. When they said no I walked out. My young shopper was adult enough to deal, I was unimpressed and would have been a bad example for her had I stayed in this store a minute longer. She did purchase a 10.00 salt and pepper vintage salt and pepper set with the 10.00 cash she had.. She left her cup there so we had to go back to pick it up.."oh, you are back!" Yes she was, but ONLY to pick up her cup, zero extra purchases were made and we never finished shopping the place. We found better deals elsewhere. Not going back.
Unfortunately one year later.... EDIT NEVER AGAIN!!!!! They treat you like a potential thief and are...
Read moreThis is a great place to hunt for treasures with many vendors offering different - and sometimes the same - types of items. You need to give yourself plenty of time if you hope to comb through all the booths to find the treasure you are looking for, since it is 3 floors of goodies. It is an antique mall, not a traditional antique store, so, yes, most of the booths are pretty full. The vendors must fill all of their space to pay the rent and make a few dollars for their efforts. I'm chagrinned to see the number of comments about how the prices are higher than eBay. Probably the prices will be higher than eBay, because eBay sellers don't have rent, utilities, business licenses, have to deal with handling sales tax, or even have to get off the couch to make a sale. eBay sellers also don't give you a place to relax and browse while enjoying a vacation in a resort town. If all you care about is price, then why even shop while on vacation? If, however, you appreciate the value of brick-and-mortar businesses and want them to stick around so you can see, feel, and inspect items before you buy them, this is a terrific option while visiting the North...
Read moreWe went in the morning the 1st time und then came back the next day. Found many salt und pepper shakers from different states that I didn't have in my collection. There was so much to look at. There is very little negotiating with price especially if it's smaller priced items und bigger items might get a 10% adjustment. The reason is, that there are all different vendors under one roof. For me part of the fun is negotiating for my treasures. A couple of items specifically an Atlanta Olympics stein was priced higher than what I found on many sites for the exact same collectible stein. Still spent many hours there und purchased about 10 or 11 salt n pepper shakers from different states that I didn't have for my US shakers collection. There was one my husband took a picture of that was 2 squirrels each on one side of a tree stump that said Yellowstone Park. Had I seen that I would have gotten it. Would still love it but it was pricey und add shipping. Hope the store contacts me or the vendor. All in all we spent many fun hours there und...
