North Dining Hall — Attraction in Notre Dame

this is a buffet. lots to choose from, ranging from typical American dishes, to Asian, as well as salad bar, ice cream, and deli bar. honestly I've heard mixed reviews on the food, but it seems like the students enjoy it overall. this place is open to the public, but not always. it can easily get crowded, and sometimes the music is very loud. however there is lots of seating. the staff does what they can, but it definitely needs help at times with cleanliness. but I think its getting better. it is very expensive here, so you better come with a large appetite. it is a buffet so there's usually plenty to choose from. they do not allow carry-out. but they do offer grub-hub on certain items so you can have it made and skip the waiting..somewhat. North Dining Hall is the absolute worst. The food is limited, clearly frozen/ reheated, lacks any taste, and served horrendously. Every time I go in there to be served I feel like an animal being fed at a zoo - nobody treats each other with respect. The worst part is after grabbing your nearly inedible grub having to go out to the so-called "Heated" tent which is really just a leaf filled freezer that doesn't stop the wind, rain, or snow from traveling through. Please please take my word as someone with experience and go to South Dining Hall instead. You...

Excellent dining hall. There are plentiful choices, allowing for individual choice pertaining to diet. It is much more spacious, well-lit, and open than South Dining Hall, without the ambiance.
