It's an experience worth checking out.

Notre Dame Stadium, also known as "The House That Rockne Built," is an iconic football stadium located on the campus of the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. Here's a brief history and a positive review of this historic venue:

History: Notre Dame Stadium was built in 1930, primarily under the guidance of legendary football coach Knute Rockne. It was initially designed to accommodate a seating capacity of 54,000 spectators. Over the years, the stadium has undergone several expansions to meet the growing demand for tickets. Notable renovations include the addition of the upper deck in 1969 and the construction of the "Touchdown Jesus" mural on the Hesburgh Library in 1981, which can be seen from the stadium. Notre Dame Stadium has been the home of the Fighting Irish football team since its inception. The team's rich history, including 11 national championships and legendary players like Joe Montana and Tim Brown, has helped solidify the stadium's place in college football lore.

Positive Review: Notre Dame Stadium is widely regarded as one of the most revered and iconic college football venues in the United States. Here are some reasons why it receives positive reviews:

Tradition and History: Notre Dame Stadium is steeped in tradition and history. Its significance within college football cannot be overstated. Walking into the stadium, fans can feel the weight of the program's storied past and the countless memorable moments that have unfolded on its hallowed grounds.

Atmosphere: The stadium's electric atmosphere during game days is unmatched. With a seating capacity that now exceeds 77,000, it provides an incredible spectacle for fans. The "Fighting Irish" spirit is palpable as the crowd passionately supports their team, creating an intense and memorable experience for both players and spectators alike.

Beautiful Architecture: Notre Dame Stadium's design blends elegance with functionality. Its distinctive brick facade and classic bowl shape give it a timeless and aesthetically pleasing appearance. The sight of the stadium, nestled within the picturesque Notre Dame campus, is breathtaking.

Game Day Traditions: The stadium is home to various cherished game day traditions. The famous "Play Like a Champion Today" sign, which players touch as they enter the field, is a symbol of the team's commitment and serves as a reminder of the program's legacy. The Notre Dame Victory March and the Irish Guard leading the team onto the field further enhance the atmosphere.

Accessibility: The stadium's location on the Notre Dame campus makes it easily accessible to students, alumni, and visitors. The surrounding area offers ample parking and tailgating opportunities, contributing to the overall gameday experience.

In summary, Notre Dame Stadium's rich history, vibrant atmosphere, stunning architecture, and cherished traditions make it a beloved destination for college football fans. It represents the epitome of the college football experience and continues to be a source of pride for the University of Notre...

Went here for Garth Brooks concert and it was pouring rain hard before the show. That stinks! But the way this place is run made it worse.

Crowd control doesn’t appear to be a concept anyone here has applied a brain cell to. Starting off with the fact to enter, you wait in line to get through metal detectors then to the ticket guy. Oh is this your gate? No? Can’t let you in here! Now go back out and walk around until you find your proper gate thanks!

Once inside, it’s just a mess. Random cubbies sell stuff but when people are in there it’s difficult for a line to naturally form. Women’s restrooms were a prime example of this as in several spots there were multiple lines and people getting upset when they realized the line they were in wasn’t the only point of entry. Many females were going rouge and just going into the guys (and employees were standing there letting that happen).

Food service doesn’t appear to be a concern. The only viable choice we found was a pretzel. Other people had popcorn. That was about all.

Ticket map (when purchasing) shows lowest section. It just happens that takes up 2/3 of the stadium, so we really had a middle tier seat which felt very deceiving.

There is a rail at the 2/3 mark and then walkways to things like bathrooms, etc. It’s natural to want to go this way vs going all the way down steps. They stack security guards to yell at you if you attempt to cross this boundary. Guy nearest us was loosing his mind screaming at people. One couple had the woman cross and the guard shouted down the guy essentially threatening to eject him if he crossed (and splitting up the couple). Another guy with kids got near the same treatment.

Parking was insane as they close off some roads. We ended up just trying to get close and finding a pay $20 cash lot. I’d not recommend trying to book parking ahead of time.

Most of the stadium issues could apply some better thinking in dealing with crowd management and it would be so...

Notre Dame Stadium is more than just a place to watch football—it’s a legendary venue where history, tradition, and the Fighting Irish spirit come alive. From the moment you step onto the grounds, you can feel the weight of decades of iconic games, roaring fans, and unforgettable moments. The stadium perfectly captures the essence of Notre Dame while incorporating modern updates that enhance the experience without losing its historic charm.

The recent additions to the stadium are truly remarkable. The enhanced video boards and sound system bring a new level of energy to game day, making it easier to follow the action and stay engaged, even from the farthest seats. The renovations have also improved the concourse areas, adding more space and better flow for fans. Gone are the days of feeling cramped—now you can grab a snack or drink and get back to your seat with ease.

Speaking of snacks, the new food and beverage options are a game-changer. The stadium offers a variety of choices that cater to all tastes, from classic game-day favorites like hot dogs and popcorn to elevated options like gourmet nachos and local craft beer.

Another standout feature is the addition of premium seating and hospitality spaces, such as the new club-level areas and rooftop terraces. These upgrades provide fans with luxurious options to enjoy the game in style while still being part of the electric atmosphere.

Despite these modernizations, Notre Dame Stadium hasn’t lost its soul. The echoes of past victories, the sea of blue and gold, and the iconic “Play Like a Champion Today” sign remind you that this is more than just a football venue—it’s a shrine to one of the most storied programs in sports history.

Whether you’re a die-hard Notre Dame fan or a first-time visitor, Notre Dame Stadium offers an unforgettable experience that blends tradition with innovation. It’s a bucket-list destination for any...
