I have always been nervous to give this restaurant a try. Always thought it would be too uppity. Well my son suggested it before we went to a hockey game with him and his girlfriend. He hadn't been there, but always wanted to try it, so I agreed to give it a try. So I made reservations. I'm so glad we stepped out of our comfort zone. We had an amazing experience. At first I was a little concerned. The decor seemed very fancy, somewhat elaborate, but I noticed that most people were dressed casual. The longer we were there the more comfortable I became and since I don't drink anymore I knew it wasn't the alcohol 🤣. It felt like a very nice sports bar. Food was excellent. My son ordered a Gaucho Asado burger, my wife ordered the maple mustard grilled pork chops, my son's girlfriend had Irish Whiskey BBQ wings, and I had the fish and chips. Everyone loved their choice. I even got to try a little of everything. It was very quality/delicious food. Service was great also. We will...
Read moreFound this online, and liked the menu, so we found our way here. Monday evening, not real busy, fairly quiet atmosphere. Sign said wait to be seated, so we did, for awhile. Then started wondering around looking at the Notre Dame history decor on the walls. My wife must've contacted someone about a table, I don't recall. My meal was great! Wife was less impressed. Unfortunately, the service was horrible. Right from the start. The host was hiding somewhere. The waitress was friendly, but scarce. I'm forgiving when they are busy. But she was not even similar to busy. One of her other tables was discussing tip while we were discussing tip, and thought the same as I did, she deserves no tip. We still left one, but smaller than usual. Three stars for the food and atmosphere, no stars for...
Read moreWill not make this mistake again. We are not fans of going to established sit down restaurants to be served pre- prepared mass produced food. I would say this about the fish and chips. Legends fish is to Fish as McNuggets are to Chicken. Hand dipping is not that difficult. Culver's does it, for goodness' sake. This fish was embarrassing and flavorless. Fries were good. Pulled pork- meh. Pretty sure that was from a prefab frozen container with sauce added. Was there horse radish in the tartar sauce? If so, why? A Guiness should not have a one inch head on it. The fried pretzels tasted ok, but wouldn't it be better to do a really good pretzel made as pretzels were intended to be made? Overall, there is a disappointing lack of pride in doing food well. Even tavern food can be done well when...
