The Eck Visitor's Center is a great place to start your visit to the University of Notre Dame. The center is located on Notre Dame Avenue, just a short walk from the Main Building and the Golden Dome.
The center has a variety of exhibits and displays that tell the story of Notre Dame, from its founding in 1842 to its present day. There is also a theater that shows a short film about the university.
The staff at the center are friendly and knowledgeable, and they are happy to answer any questions you have about Notre Dame. They can also help you plan your visit, whether you are interested in taking a tour of the campus, visiting the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, or attending a football game.
Here are some of the things I liked about the Eck Visitor's Center:
The exhibits are well-designed and informative. The staff are friendly and helpful. The center is conveniently located on campus. There is a variety of things to see and do, even if you are not a Notre Dame fan.
Overall, I highly recommend the Eck Visitor's Center to anyone who is visiting the University of Notre Dame. It is a great place to learn about the university's history and traditions, and it is a great starting point for your visit to campus.

Read moreWOW! What a fun experience. The visitors center and bookstore here at University of Notre Dame was top notch. Very big, tons of souvenirs and practical stuff, friendly staff. Got all our swag to support the “fighting Irish”, even if we’re not Irish, Catholic, nor have gone to ND. Lol!
The visitors center was super as well. With tours on the hour, they hosted us freely and with a smile. Our tour guide was finishing freshman year, totally overjoyed to share with us how great the university is, matched with historical and current day stories.
The visitors center is beautiful with minimal information, but enough to give you some reading and see a few items of tradition and value.
If you’re in the South Bend, Indiana area, you really need to take the time to do...
Read moreGot a map for campus here and wanted to visit the basilica not one person told us that visitors had to park in a designated area. So I got a parking ticket. Please understand I dont mind paying for parking but just it would be nice if staff inform visitors about the parking rules. Also to pay the the fine should be easier. I had to drive around an area I didnt know and ask people where we were. Finally got to go into a building to pay but thankfully was told because it was my first time that was ok. I asked where I could park and was given a map. So please visitors be careful. And from the map. Be aware there is a lot of walking involved with sightseeing this area. We had a fab time and tour in the Basilica...
