It was my first time there. I just had to see "Top Gun Maverick" after hearing about it everywhere. It did not disappoint!! Great movie!!
For the theater, it was barely okay. I hated having to walk a long way (lots of people everywhere but in the theater). I also hated having to walk through another, very noisy, business to get to the theater lobby.
Sure, you get tickets at the friendly folks in the ticket booth, but getting inside is another chore. If I wanted to see, or walk through the middle of "dueling pianos" to get to a movie lobby, I would have bought tickets to a noisy, sing-along show. I was neither in the mood, nor at all interested in the task of trying to find my way through a singalong just to look for small curtain (a semblamce of a doorway or doorway). Really?? Spend a buck folks and make a real doorway.
Either the dueling piano bar is a pop-up event thing (I saw no signs indicating that) or the movie theatre industry is failing in the Villages.
The AC and temperature were fine in the theater. No ceiling fans were seen there. There was a only a shortly delay of previews and trailers before the movie. Way better than the 20 minutes of preview I've seem in previous years at other theaters.
After the film, most folks (including us) left out a side exit as to not have to endure the exploration of where that entrance curtain/pseudo-door was located.
I'll not be back to THAT theater again. I have heard there is a nice one...
Read moreTerrible experience! I bought tickets online for The Conjuring, very excited to see it. Showtime was 7:55, we arrived at 7:20 and were checked in and told theater 4, we then spent $60 on popcorn etc. then went into the theater and there was already a movie playing, we thought maybe we are early and this is the end of whatever is playing, multiple employees saw us confused and waiting and just let us sit there in the lobby, at 7:45 I approached the concession stand to ask and they just kept saying theater 4, an assistant manager then stepped in and long story short they sold us tickets for a time the movie was not playing, it was in theater 4 but started at 7:10! Megan the assistant manager offered us a refund OR free passes, really? The refund should have been a given and the passes for the inconvenience not to mention the $60 in concession refunded as that all got tossed, AND they did not refund the service fee!!! Then she says itâs the last night this movie is playing, itâs only been in theaters for 2 weeks!!!!! Megan didnât seem to care about making it right. Shame on you Old Mill Playhouse, especially the way it was handled, they just didnât care, we wonât visit here ever, ever,...
Read moreThe experience was rapidly changed as I had to miss some of my movie because of a horrible employee. I approached her to ask for a childs seat (which for some reason they dont have any out in the open) and she just kept telling me to wait because she kept seeing people coming thru the door. She would take care of some folks let them in and boom someone would walk in from the far door and she had me wait. I kept asking her to send someone else to look for it since she was busy and she just kept telling me to wait. This was a whole 10 minutes that I missed from my movie. Anyone could think oh thats nothing, it is when you are home and you didnt pay for the movie and you are being held by their own people because they want to. I would think that once I spoke to the supervisor they would let me watch the 10 minutes from the movie in the next showing but he wasnt even faced I had a bad experience. Yes he did talk to me and told me they had already talked to the person and ahe was going to do better... but it was okay for me to pay for a movie and missed...
