Well, this is my review on the new RedStone 14 Theater in Indian land South Carolina. I'm a big movie guy who's in a wheelchair so I've been waiting for this thing to open ever since they broke ground. Why? Well, it's only 22 miles from my home and four lane all the way. The route to Regal Cinemas on Ray Road, has gotten so congested with stop lights and traffic. Remember, this is just one man's opinion. Being in a wheelchair, I look for easy access. RedStone nailed this theater. We'll get to the seats in a little bit but for now, let's look at a few other things. Parking was easy and access walkway is marked. You pay for your ticket outside but unlike Rock Hill, at least there is an overhang in case it's raining. That's huge for me sitting in a wheelchair. There is no reserved seating. However, you can buy your ticket online. As you go into the entrance, you're greeted with a huge lobby. You'll be happy with all the room that's available. I had easy access to the concession counters so getting my food was convenient. Although I don't have a problem caring my food with my wheelchair, I thought it was nice of them to ask if I needed help. Next, I checked out the bathrooms. As you can see from the photos, there's no entrance door. That's great because some people don't bother washing their hands. I never touched the door with my hands in other theaters. There was plenty of room in the bathroom with auto paper dispenser or auto blow dry. The wheelchair stall had plenty of room for a wheelchair. That's a must in my world. Let's talk about the movie theater. They are different sizes. Why? When a movie has been out for awhile, they will move it into a smaller theater because most people have seen it. Good. Alright, let's talk about the seats. So as you can see by my photos, these are very nice leather seats. I pushed on the seat and back cushions and they were well patted. These are wider than the old seats. I know most people are wanting a recliner but I really think you want make this a deal breaker. Just try it. I'm really not trying to be smart with this comment, but if hubby doesn't want to go with you because they don't have recliners, let him stay in his recliner and watch Netflix. They put their expense into the digital sound quality. This brings up another topic. They have replaced IMAX with PDX. Premium Digital Experience and it's great technology. It has around fifty two digital surround sound with a large screen. These theaters have 2D and 3D capability. So, what does all this mean? It's just one man's opinion in a world full of people like you. I encourage you to go watch a good movie and see what you think. Talk with Customer Service about the two kid's party rooms. They offer movie packages for children's birthday movie parties. I hope this...
Read moreThis is our first time at this theater, and we are impressed! Movies and times were posted on their website where we also purchased our tickets with ease.
Upon walking in, the lobby was clean, bright, and inviting. We used the self-serve kiosks to pick up our tickets EZPZ. There was an employee checking tickets and let us know what way our theater was. We grabbed some drinks at the concession stand where we were served quickly by another employee. My husband used the restroom and stated it was clean.
As we entered the theater room itself, I noticed the seats were VERY close together. We sat in the seats we picked, and the woman to the left of me was loudly chomping popcorn in my ear. My anxiety couldn't handle it. I proceeded to guest services to ask to have our seats moved to two seats on the end so I could sit in an aisle seat. The employee was super friendly and happy to help.
Back in the theater room, the seats are comfy, the backs lean back, and there is ample legroom. No, the seats don't recline with a footrest, but we didn't mind.
Overall, we enjoyed our experience, and we...
Read moreUpdated review since reopening here ⏩ Our family was thrilled to be back at Redstone! Every other row is roped off and every third seat is supposed to be skipped. Luckily it wasn't very busy and we had good distance from others. Nothing seems different other then social distancing and no refills permitted, it's back to normal. They spray seats between movies. Masks required unless seated, very simple to understand! People are so respectful not having cell phones on or texting. Friendly, patient staff. Great to be back!!!🪅🎊🎊 Pictures shown from this review.
Old review here/ six months prior to Covid ⏩ Kept spotless. The staff are all friendly. Just a great atmosphere. Patrons are so polite everytime we go nobody texts during the movie. The chicken tenders are delicious. Popcorn could be better. Sorry to say it is a bit dry and over salted. The kids pack is worth it with popcorn, candy ( gummies) and a drink for under $6. We travel to get here but its's totally worth it. Armed security adds to a more safe feeling. 👍 They care about safety! Thank you RedStone! Keep up the...
