We have been going to this theater since it opened a few years ago. We never had a negative experience there, but my own experience is not the reason for this 1 star. Earlier week, in the midst of the hottest days we have had all summer, this Regal theater refused admittance to a group of campers from our county recs and parks, the Adaptive Camp at Mayo. Tickets were purchased in advance, to keep this group of kids and counselors safe and protected and yet when they arrived, expecting to have an enjoyable experience out of the oppressive heat, they were turned away - for ludicrous ‘reasons’. First it was supposedly due to having oversold the movie. What?? Really??? Then, when the camp director offered to pay full price for their already-paid-for tickets, they were then told it was a ‘liability’ issue. Are you kidding, Regal??? Clearly not or you wouldn’t be under a wave of negativity right now. You have ZERO legs to stand on, in either excuse. I encourage you to make this right, Regal. Your decision to refuse service to this group, well over 100 children, well over 100 families have been impacted by your unacceptable insensitivity and your staff at this location, as well as your corporate managers should be downright ashamed of themselves for this incident. At the very least, you absolutely owe that staff and campers from Camp Mayo, the families of this campers as well as the citizens of Anne Arundel County a huge apology. At.the.very.least. Until that happens, I will BDN taking my business elsewhere. For readers of this review, I encourage you, if you are as appalled as I am this this happened here, to also stand with those of us who will not tolerate this type of INtolerence and boycott this Regal theater till the right thing is done and they make right the wrong they did to this amazing...
Read moreWe went to see the new Avatar Movie. The movie itself was good. The 3D effects were good but would have been better if the 3D glasses actually fit. The glasses were so small that they began to hurt the side of my head and the bridge of my nose. During some parts of the movie, I had to move my head to keep up with the full 3D as the glasses were so small, they did not capture the entire screen. I didn't see an option for bigger glasses or I would have chosen those. The staff was friendly but they couldn't offer me any bigger glasses. "This is all we have" is what I was told. The glasses the theater provided must have been children's or the cheapest pair of glasses Regal could afford. The seating was very cramped. I felt like the person next to me was in my lap. It wouldn't hurt to maybe add a few inches between each seat, to add some comfort to the experience. The popcorn was okay. Not very flavorful, even after having the concessions attendant add layered butter. Overall, I give the move itself a 4 out of 5 stars. As far as me and my fiances' experience, we give Regal the company, Regal Waugh Chapel Theater, and the total experience, a 1 out of 5 stars. And the 1 star is because we enjoyed just the film. I'm sure this will fall on def ears, but I hope not and hope that some of these things I shared with you are actually looked at and remedied for the next couple that wants to spend $80.00 + dollars on two tickets, a medium popcorn, a large drink on a subpar...
Read moreI go to this movie theater frequently as I have the monthly pass. The first time I went I kept smelling urine. I kept smelling around until I realized there was an actual puddle of urine in the row behind me. Seems like someone just decided to urinate there in the previous showing. They would have caught this if they had cleaned the theatre in between showings. When I went to let someone know, I almost slipped on the bare floor because my shoe had actually stepped in it. I notified a manager and was told they would take care of it. I don't need the movie reimbursed or anything but I just told you there is URINE in the theater and I've stepped in it and that was all. I never ran into another issue like this again.
Only other problem is the popcorn. It is always bland so I ask for popcorn salt and the concessions people always want to point me towards the standard packs of salt that you would get with to-go food. I have to ask specifically for the popcorn salt and depending on who it is now, they ask if its okay to give me and will eventually go to the back to put some in a container for me. I'm not talking about the flavored salt they charge for. Just the shaker of popcorn salt they are supposed to put in the popcorn as it pour out of the machine. Would it hurt to just put some by the napkins so people can put salt in their popcorn if its not going to be mixed in...
