My rating is based mostly on the service, it soured the visit. We were seated quickly in the small room off of the main dining area. The server took a good amount of time to "find" us, she asked if anyone had helped us and we said no and she said oh you must be the table they were talking about. I assumed she was told she had a table but didn't know where we were. She took our drink order, the kids' orders, and the appetizers and left. One of the appetizers came out first, then shortly after the kids' orders came out before the drinks got to us. Then the second appetizers came out and I noticed the server look at our table and run off. She brought the kids drinks and a water for my wife and asked if I had gotten my beer which I had not (and I thought was obvious). I then reminded her that my wife and I had not yet ordered our entree and she took that order (definitely forgot we hadn't ordered). I also pointed out at that time that we had no napkins and silverware which she ran and grabbed. Eventually my beer arrived. At this point the kids had finished eating, the appetizers had long been eaten, and we were waiting for our entrees. We were never asked if we needed refills on beverages which we did as the Kids drinks were gone and they had finished my wife's water as well. The food was ok, fries were good, onion straws were VERY greasy, I got the pasta which was ok but I felt was a small portion. I wouldn't have noticed the portion sizes if the rest of the meal had gone smoother tho, I was looking for negatives at this point because I was frustrated. If I was being honest I don't think the server had been properly trained, she didn't really know HOW to be a server. I could tell as I worked in the restaurant industry for many years when I was younger. TVs all had sports and in the end I kinda feel that I would've had a much better time at the bar...
Read moreStaff Members of Green Turtle, SPECIFICALLY MANAGERS, enjoys talking about their customers during service holiday hours. We have been locals to the Waugh Chapel communities since the day of constructing Waugh Chapel, matter of fact we are quite friendly, respectful, and acquainted to management and owners of many businesses here including Green Turtle years ago. It has been awhile since we've eaten here so we decided to spend Veterans Day, as my husband is a service member. It was quite packed, so we helped ourselves to the bar booth area where we had no choice but to sit next to pretty loud and obnoxious older women that insisted on gossiping about troublesome tables. Understandably the service industry is hard, but keeping your comments is NOT. We continued to mind our business, until we needed a few items that we've waited for a bit even after finishing our meal. This is no problem for us since it's a busy Veterans night, so my husband walked to the bar after waiting almost 20-30 minutes on one drink. The 3-4 women whom were still chatting it up with the bartender ended up talking about him -"people should have more patience " - as he walked away. Luckily I was sitting right next to their conversation to know : -"thank god we don't wear name tags" -"im the loudest one here I DONT CARE" -"I told them THANK YOU FOR THE NO TIP" -"god the lady came to complain for waiting 30 mins and asked who was the manager was- I SAID I WAS" ----that they were management all along. For that said, we are a minority couple, service member, and long time customer of Green Turtle that have enjoyed the revitalized menu and atmosphere, however with this new management team that is allowed to sit at the bar and possible drunkenly speak about anyone in this manner should reconsider supporting this...
