Skateland North Point — Attraction in Essex

I just attended a Saturday night session. Since I don’t like to leave bad reviews without mentioning something good I will start with saying the people at the door and ticket office were nice and they have ample security. After that it was a bit downhill. I bring my own skates and I didn’t have anything to eat so I can’t rate that. It was packed with people on the inside with LOTS of kids (including teens) and skate mates. The kids were not managed well and were allowed to skate any direction they wanted and operate the skate mates recklessly. People were taking video and pictures with their phones while skating and causing accidents. People would fall on the skate floor and just lie there and not made to get up quickly. Kids were just recklessly cutting through the middle. Of course none would apologize. Don’t even ask about the last time the floor was swept. Beads, balls, coins, and other tripping hazards were found throughout. The skate guards were working on their moves instead of doing their job. Just very unsafe in general. If you like to skate especially as an adult this may not be the rink for you. I hear other nights are less crowded but I will likely never return to find out for sure. EMPLOYEE BY THE NAME OF ROLAND.. this is for you! This individual Roland is 18 years old.. making him an adult. Roland thinks it’s ok to text, call, Snapchat and send pictures of himself to a 13 year old girl. Skateland is a childrens venue, and the adults working the childrens venue are there looking for attention & pleasure from CHILDREN. I asked to speak to the owner personally today but he refused to speak to me. He sent an off duty officer outside to tell me ‘he's sorry.’ YOU ARE A COWARD. I called and left voicemails that he refuses to return the call. I have email numerous times with still no response. I will continue to make everyone aware on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter.. you name it! If this individual Roland is doing this to one, he will make your loved one fall victim as well. The owner is a coward for not speaking to a parent about this situation. Doing absolutely everything I can to have him shut down, charged and be held accountable as the owner. I hosted a birthday party at skateland. It was a big mistake! First there is no way they are keeping headcount for the fire Marshall capacity. We had ZERO space for parents to sit that were attending the party with their children. The party time was 1-4, the food was not served until 3:30. I never received the addition food I ordered for my party. All of the parties were served food and drinks at once so the entire concession area was jam packed. Getting my refund for the food that was never served was also an issue. While I was waiting for the refund, I asked an employee if it’s always this disorganized, her response “yes, every weekend”. You could not move without bumping into someone. The music for birthday skate was messed up. I spent an addition $50 on walkers. The parking lot does not have enough spots for all the people they have in the building. They also do not have handicap parking. I don’t recommend hosting a party at North...
