So upon walking in here which I admit, I haven't been here in quite some time. My original several first times here were a bit mixed results. Never with the food but always with the check out. Sometimes you'd get a massive bag of chips so stuffed you can't get more in, other times you get what feels like 8-10 chips. The other issue was I really like getting tacos that's mixed, steak & chorizo.. but would be asked to pay a different price every time I went... With all that said..

The food is amazing!!!! Their salsa Verde is THE BEST I'VE HAD on the east coast & only 1 possibly better in Cali. I would need to taste it side by side though cuz it really was perfectly balanced. A lot of tomatillo salsas are target watery in Maryland, here it was perfect.. great great, great tomatillo flavor, subtle hints of cilantro & jalapeno.. Just an amazing salsa but all their salsas are great, especially their white.

I don't know if they're under be owners from the last time I went & while some things have changed their food is always on point, hot, fresh & never disappointing. So if you're looking for a great meal look no future cuz you've found some of the best tacos you'll be able to find in Maryland & surrounding areas. Next, I'll have to try their barria tacos & report back how they are. Till then... You guys won't be disappointed in ANYTHING you order so go ahead & work through them menu...

The food is good at Tacos Tolteca. I personally love the nachos. The reason I deducted 2 stars was that the cashier didn't know the menu and couldn't understand me. I asked for churros. With very poor communication, she said that they didn't have them ( I had gotten them there before), so I pointed to the word on the menu at the counter. Still she shook her head no. I said fine no problem, I don't need them. Then after yelling to kitchen staff, finally they found them. They came out of the freezer and I immediately regretted the decision. Not only were they tasteless, but it caused me a headache to get. The other reason I was upset was because I like to mix chicken and steak on my nachos. I'll pay more, no problem. She told me they can't do that. Again, I had done a mixed meat order at last 2 times I went to Tacos Tolteca. That irritated me, but I said ok grilled chicken. Then I get home and there was no queso on my nachos. What are nachos without cheese sauce. The food on its best day is an 8/10. This day, because of the inconvenience was 4/10. My personal favorite Mexican is El Salto. I'll go the extra 15 min to get...

If I could give negative stars I would, I ordered a chicken quesadilla and the one from taco bell taste better. That's sad, they just threw all the topping mixed together in the corner of the container, with lettuce and tomato. WTH who puts lettuce on a quesadilla? I asked for sour cream and guacamole on the side and the put it in top of a pile of lettuce, also it has ZERO flavor and the cheese tastes like its swiss cheese not a mexican blend that one would expect. If I pay 12 dollars for what is essentially a grilled cheese with chicken I expect it to be flavorful. Please ,please, please dont waste your money on this place. I also called to complain and they did nothing but say they were sorry, didnt even try to keep me as a customer. Beware to all who are considering coming here. The taco bell around the way is sadly better than this place, and that's saying alot. Completely disappointed. Update: walked into this place with a friend who really wanted to try it, eventhough I said they sucked, and saw baby roaches crawling on the counter where you place your order. We were so disgusted that we left...

Found this place because my old taco spot is a longer drive. The first time I was BLOWN AWAY. Like they even made me like guac, which I have always hated. As I continue to come back I notice they leave little things off the Taco salad, and everything is increasingly soggy. This final time which will be my last, they left off 2 or 3 things with huge fist sized pieces of pork, not attempted to be broken up. There was so much juice in the bottom, I had to tilt it so it could drain. They don't really seem to care which is unfortunate because the food is seasoned well, but I'm not gonna waste any more money here. Even the quesadillas and tacos were soggy. How do you have juices pooled up at the bottom of a quesadilla?
