Sugar Creek Apartments — Attraction in Jersey Village

I would not recommend living here and strongly suggest finding another place to enjoy peace of mind and a quality living environment; especially if you are someone who consistently pays rent on time. When the previous management team left, the property quickly went downhill. I’m so glad to be finally gone.

Freida is highly unprofessional - extremely rude, unpleasant, and just not "people friendly"; seemingly only there for the paycheck. Tori is very nice and friendly but appears inexperienced and lacks the knowledge necessary to assist residents effectively. On the bright side, Titiona is fantastic and remains the only staff member who consistently provides excellent service at this property.

Maintenance is another significant issue unless you escalate matters directly to the management supervisor. In fairness, this often seemed to stem from work orders not being passed along to maintenance or the absence of a reliable maintenance team -at one point, the property had no maintenance staff at all. Submitting work orders was a nightmare, and Freida frequently gave excuses (LIES), claiming they had ordered the wrong parts, which was often untrue according to maintenance.

Despite the lack of care for their residents and effecitve communication, the management send very rude email showing no appreciation for their residents. Property dark at night in some areas due to lights out.

I strongly urge the management to improve for the sake of the residents who still live there and for future residents. Your job exists because of the residents who pay their hard earned money to live there in peace and with the expectation of a quality living...

I have had a wonderful experience so far with Freda and her supervisor. I have only been there twice but so far she has made this stressful situation I am in a lot easier. I am going through a divorce and I have been battling with Ovarian Cancer for the past year. Trying to adjust to one income for you and your child with the cost of living these days is a STRUGGLE! Right now I don’t make enough money to be able to support me and my daughter comfortably, but I’m doing the very best I can while battling with some health issues. My biggest fear was not being able to find a place that we can afford. That is also safe for us to live. My mother and I have went to over 30 apartment complexes trying to find a suitable fit financially with a good community. It has been very discouraging when you realize how little your options are. The first time I came in I was just price shopping to see what kind of environment I will get with my rent budget. She was friendly, welcoming, efficient, and understanding. Round 2 was income amount approvals/availability. Frida took so much time and effort with me today. Even her supervisor was extremely helpful and friendly. I would be willing to pay a little more money in rent if it came down to it if it meant that I got to live in a community with staff like this. She was incredibly helpful and lifted my hopes back up. 4/4/2023: 7 years later, to be honest the complex has been through a rough patch with different management and ownership over the years. The team ( Tori & Freda) at present, inherited at lot of problems due to the inconsistent management. I appreciate them staying with us, enduring criticism and weathering the storm. The apartments are improving. The trash situation is better but still exist. I have to blame the resistances. There's 5 dumpsters to be utilized and placing trash inside should not that difficult. I continue to Love the location , the quietness & respectful/private neighbors. 😊👍🏽❤️

Beginning with the office staff, I have no complaints but praise. Chelsie and Mrs. Angelas' professionalism conveys concern, respect and fairness. I just love this duo! As for the property, it is well kept, very quiet and maintenance do respond in a acceptable amount of time. Added, the computer lab helps me get alot of my work completed. I am thankful for that amenity! The only area of concern is the dumpster. Perhaps a larger dumpster should be placed where there is increased apartment population. I have witness that the waste management company does not pick up around it nor what may fall out. The size seems to be problem and the individuals that place the trash around because it is full.
