I had been searching for a new 3ds xl in good condition for a while now. I had not had any luck at all for months. I had been all over Houston and nothing. Then I went into retro city games. As I walked in I was greeted by Richard and asked if I needed help. So I asked if he had any new 3ds xls in stock thinking I would be told no for the 5th time that day. Luckily he did have one, and it looked like it had just been taken out of the box. Finally, my treasure hunt was over. Richard was the nicest, most helpful, and knowledgeable guy that I have interacted with at a game store. I could see he wanted to help me, and cared about giving me the best customer experience. He wanted me to enjoy what I was buying. I spent an extra 20 or 30 minutes just talking to him after I decided to take home the ds. This store was on the other side of Houston for me. The man helping us when we went was nice, but the scalper prices on their Pokemon product made us leave empty handed. I believe the man said they went off PriceCharting which is hands down the worst of all (usually shops go based off TCG Player) so that means you’ll be paying two-three times product’s msrp, all the way down to the small singles. We refuse to buy anything from any shop/person who is contributing to the problem of the current state of things. I can’t speak on the prices of whatever else is in there but given that we went on a Saturday afternoon and not a single other person was there, it’s probably safe to say their prices on everything aren’t the best. Amazing little gem hiding on west road! This shop has all kinds of really cool stuff such as pokemon card singles, slabs, ETB, collectibles, retro video games, plushes, and other really cool hard to find items!! I just discovered this shop a few days ago with some friends and I absolutely love it! The guys there are super nice, professional, knowledgeable, and they are super helpful. The inventory is constantly changing because they sell and trade so it's nice to check out this place often to see what kind of cool stuff they may have that day!
