I discovered this lovely park while attending a community tag sale. Opened in 2019, this 28 acre park has four synthetic football/soccer fields, concession stands, a 560 square foot meeting room which can be rented, four picnic pavilions with tables, restrooms, and a shade covered playground with climbing structures, swing sets, and multiple slides.
The park also has 3.32 acres of wetlands with a 2 acre lake with a fishing pier. . My favorite part of the park was the almost half mile walking path around the wetlands and lake. During my walk I saw a number of birds including Egyptian Geese and Ibis. The wetlands area is perfect for attracting wildlife. Other birds you may find here include common gallinule, wood storks, mottled ducks, limpkins, tricolored herons, great blue herons, black crowned night herons, anhingas, and great egrets.
The creation of this park helped to ease the burden of the overcrowded athletic fields in Cooper City but this park is also a welcome resource for anyone wanting somewhere to hold a meeting or party, a place to take the kids to play, or a spot to...
Read moreThis park is okay, the actual Field s that the kids get to play on is pretty nice when the temperature is cooler or for night games. But attending games here in the summertime in the afternoon or mornings are brutal. Not much shade and the way the fields are orientated. The covered seating areas that they do have aren't really usable unless you want to watch your kid with binoculars. This Park could have been so great but was clearly beefed by city planners or designers. All the facilities like bathrooms or drinks are located at basically one end of the park while the fields are at the opposite end. And if you're at the furthest field, walking for a drink or a quick trip to the bathroom takes a bit longer than you'd like. I attend games here regularly for my children so I have the opinions that I have of this park because I'm here regularly and see its shortcomings but in the grand scheme of things it's a nice place for kids to kick a...
Read moreReally great park if you love soccer (or football). For the longest time me and my friends would have to jump from park to park because goals would be removed or chained to the fence instead of being playable. You never knew until you drove out and checked for yourself. That finally changed when we went here. The goals are left up all the time and they even have multiple sizes. Fields are artificial turf so you don't have to worry about there being ant piles or chunks of earth missing. All that being said, the best thing about the park may be that there are nets behind the goals so you don't have to worry about chasing down balls. Best soccer park I've been to in the Pines...
