OneBlood Cooper City Donor Center — Local services in Cooper City

Located in the Countryside Shops on Stirling and Flamingo, this blood donation center always has friendly caring staff. Definitely recommend making an appointment online as the last couple times I've gone, there have been quite a few people in the waiting area and appts go before walk ins. Pro tip - avoid dairy for 2 days prior to donating to help ensure your iron levels are good. They are open 7 days a week. You can donate whole blood and platelets (not sure if they are still doing plasma and double red cell).

Did you know only 2% of the population donates blood? Did you know one donation helps 3 people? Did you know when you donate, you get a free wellness check (bp, iron count, cholesterol - if you donate), usually some type of gift (shirt, blanket, cups, etc), and usually a $20 gift card voucher to pick a place of your choice. Have you made your appt yet? What are you waiting for? They are currently running a challenge that if you donate more consistently in a certain time frame, you actually get more money with each visit.

Anyhow back to the location at hand. Their drink fridge is always full and snack tray is usually fully stocked with a variety of yummy snacks. They have a couple tvs usually showing random stuff without volume and music on one playing so keep that in mind if you want to bring a book or something to pass the time. DO NOT GO HERE!!! All 3 times they appeared as if it was their first day on the job. The second time I returned with a prescription to drain my blood for medical reasons and they would not honor the prescription. The 3rd time their headquarters location contacted me and set an appointment to do a blood test; " they made an appointment time for me which they acknowledged". While checking in they would not test my blood because it wasn't in the computer after they had scheduled it, I left upset. 10 minutes later "Shawn" called me and was wondering where I was to take the blood test; he had just seen me and I told him that I was there for that. First time donor who’s terrified of needles. I donated to help a family member. Shawn, Tiana and Janet all took great care of me. Shawn drew my blood and I barely felt the needle. I made the mistake of not eating before and got lightheaded afterwards, all 3 of them immediately jumped in to see what was going on and what I needed.
