Great payout with a large lake with Lily pads and asdorted waterfowl. Lake path wraps back through an elongated creek area that narrows through some nice botanical gardens. There is plenty of parking above and below. Has a playground area for the kiddos right next to the public restrooms. There is a smaller outdoor amphitheatre for concerts in the park. Tennis courts. Basketball courts across from the park as well as a skate park by the courts. If you want to plan a large family gathering check out the gazebo area complete with bbw grills. Another local attraction is a frisbee golf that winds around through the many woods outside of immediate park scene. Of you want to just walk through lots of cool wooded hills then there's plenty of foot paths for all. Pet friendly with lots of dogy waste station's that I've always found plenty of Doo doo baggies unlike some dog parks in the area. Paths around the lake walk is lit by lamposts for a romantic walk or a casual stroll with your pets. Friendly people enjoying a beautifully put...

I was pleasantly surprised to stumble upon this hidden gem in Coos Bay. Every time we pass through Coos Bat we do it in a hurry - I’m ashamed to say - because the main downtown doesn’t hold anything that attracts us (the casino and busy bay scenes/mills/ships). However, I am SO glad we did a little more exploring this weekend to discover places like this.

This garden is a breath of fresh air in Coos Bay and a lovely escape from the business of downtown. We came early March and all the cherry blossoms were beginning their bloom and some of the early spring bulbs were popping up. The Japanese garden is so calming and thoughtfully designed making for many picturesque moments. The bamboo forests and manicured gardens in stark contrast to the lush oregon forests were a dramatic effect.

Can’t wait to come back here in the summer to see it all green and...

Overall it was fantastic. People were socially distance, wearing masks when near by. However by the playground there was an alarming amount of dog poo (please pick up after your pups, nothing ruins a day faster than stepping in poo), as well there was a rather strong smell of weed in the wooded area by the Red Bridge. I understand we live in a state where it's legal, and we have more pot shops than book stores (which is sad). Please remember to smoke at home, I say this not for my sake but it should be obvious with the playground and lending library... children frequent this park. So... if you want to take your kids to the park watch your step and be aware that the further west you go in the park the more likely the smell...

Such a lovely place for a stroll. I wasn't here for very long, but it is so pretty and tranquil that I couldn't help but enjoy the atmosphere. It's a small park, but it is well taken care of. It's a great place for picnics and walks. There are no fire pits or anything like that, but there is a gazebo. There's also a playground for young children, a community swimming pool, a Japanese garden, short nature trails, a skate park, a grassy stage area, and of course a great big pond in the middle of it all that is teeming with ducks and some other waterfowl. I don't recall seeing bathrooms, but I wasn't looking for them either. If I lived in Coos Bay, I'd be visiting often.

This place is a quiet, beautiful gem. Theres a walking path around a beautiful pond that has ornate birds living there, I have even seen a turtle. There's always lots of dog walkers, but all use leashes. There's two play grounds,1 bigger one with steep slides, swings and monkey bars, and one for toddlers. The bathrooms are usually closed, so go before you visit. There's also a few short hiking trails with decent varying of grades and a disc golf course. A public pool is here but only used once a week for open swim on Saturday afternoons.
