I recently brought my deceased dad's watch in for a repair and cleanup. Needed a new gold bezel, a good cleaning and the metal band shorten for my wrist. It was the only tangible item I had of him and wanted to wear his watch. The sales clerk took the watch and said it will take a couple of weeks. Two weeks later my dad's watch looked nothing like the two tone case and bezel that I wanted. Not only was it completely different, the replacement parts must have been in their inventory for a while because it was scratched up. The owner kept saying he couldn't find the part and that was the best he can do. Now he tells me? I refused to pay $140 he was charging for an item I was not even called in advance about pricing or told the difficulty it was in getting the correct part(s). I could have understood that, accepted it and made the decision to move ahead or not. Instead he took the watch back to look again for a two tone case and bezel. The second time around was worse. He found a two tone case and bezel but half the gold was missing and was in pretty rough shape. There was something wrong with the face of the watch too and couldn't put a finger on it. It was clear that something went so wrong and was astonished he still wanted to charge $140.00. Finally, I was given back the watch without paying. Took the watch to a different watch repair guy. What I discovered that 1- Antonio watches reduced/cut the face of my dad's watch to fit into an old and existing case & bezel that he had. 2- The very fine and small lettering on the watch face must have fallen off and he sloppily re-glued it while glue smeared on the watch face. What was meant to be a replacement, repair and clean up turned into a salvage mission. If only I was given the choice to start with, it would have been a different ballgame. Other than a simply battery change, I would not bring anything...
Read moreIt was the first time that I got my bracelet and charm to be repaired there. When I went to pick up my bracelet, my charm on the bracelet was moved 2 links inward from the end (I thought), and the repaired clasp was put in the wrong end, the technician said he didn't move the charm. It was a total "Mystery" for all of us then, I should have picked up my stuff and run from them then, my mistake.
I have had this bracelet for 7 years, and the charm on my Tiffany bracelet was never once moved for any reason, they couldn't tell me how the charm was dangling on the last link of the bracelet, instead of hanging on the third link exactly how I gave them my bracelet.
They said they will fix it, and I had to go back to pick up the bracelet, they fixed the clasp and put on the right side, they moved the charm to the third link like nothing happened, but when I tried it on, guess what, it was shorter than what I had, BINGO!, I realized by then what exactly happened, those 2 links at the end were taken off.
I quietly paid my bill and said to the owner about what happened, the owner said those sterling silver is not that much worth, I thought to myself, "You are right, a couple from one customer might not, but a couple from a few might be a different story..".
It was the first time and will be the last time dealing with this store for me, I know my bracelet that I've been wearing almost everyday for 7 years, it got shortened, and I am damn sure where those 2 links ended up at.
If I were you, count your links and take a photo of your stuff in front of them before you drop yours off. I am kicking myself in my butt for what i didn't do for myself. Better yet, find a better, more honest, and more responsible jewelry store, certainly it left me a very bad taste in my mouth, and I lost my 2 of Tiffany sterling silver...
Read moreUnfortunately I can't rate 0 stars. I brought a watch in for repairs and told it could be repaired for $150.00. I left it and picked it up a few weeks later and was told the repair was complete. The watch worked one day. I returned it to the store and was told it would be repaired shortly. A few weeks later, again I was called and told the watch was ready. Upon picking it up, Antonio told me it was fixed but he didn't know how to set the time. He advised me to go on You tube and set it myself. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Naturally I refused. He then told me he would send the watch back to Citizen for them to reset. Fast forward 9 months, I visited the store and the watch was in his vault. However the story changed. Antonio was waiting for a vendor to set the time. 9 months? At the end of the day. I paid $150 and my watch doesn't work. I brought the watch to another jewelry store where I was told the part installed was incorrect. It is now repaired for $80.00 and I didn't have to go on you tube to set it. The jeweler did it. STAY AWAY!...
