Service: I ordered and paid online for two bagel sandwiches for pickup via their website. Because traffic on the way was much worse than expected and it took a long time to get there, I decided to eat at the restaurant. They said that's fine, just be seated and they'll bring them out to us. I wanted to add drinks to the order at the counter and pay, but they said the server would take care of us. The standard waitstaff service was fine; however, problems started when we were issued our check.
The check wasn't just for the two drinks. It included the sandwiches. I wasn't entirely surprised by this; however, I was surprised at how the waitress decided to handle it. I explained that we were a pickup order from online, and had already paid for the two sandwiches. I showed the emailed receipt on my phone as evidence of this. The waitress went to the kitchen to check and came back and said we'd called in our order and hadn't yet paid. I said, "That's not true. I just showed you my online order receipt. I'd be happy to email it to you." The waitress said that we would have to wait for the owner to come and sort it out; he had gone to take his kid to school and he's the only one with access to the online system. I said I already paid for the sandwiches and I'm happy to pay for the drinks, but I needed to get to work and can't wait for the owner; this is their problem to sort out and I don't know why I need to be inconvenienced by it. I asked her to just issue a new check for just the drinks and have the owner void the old, wrong check when he comes back. It's not like I'm trying to scam them out of two bagel sandwiches, but I that's what I felt like they were worried about with me.
The waitress did issue a new check, but I heard her complaining about it to the other staff in the kitchen the entire time after this until I left.
The food: The bagels themselves were low on flavor. I'd asked for one of the bagels to be regular toasted and the other lightly toasted, but both were barely toasted at all. The eggs were terrible. They were overdone and gross.
Overall: This restaurant came to me by word of mouth recommendation. I've had up and down experiences from this person's recommendations, so I had set my expectations on the low side. My actual experience was far worse than my already low expectations. The food was less than mediocre and the customer experience was ridiculous.
I won't be returning to or...
Read moreI have to tell you, I haven't been here in quite some time. We decided to give it another try because of the location convenience... I can not say enough about the experience. Despite it being very busy, we were seated quickly, they had some young staff working the floor just to keep everything running smoothly. They were bringing drinks out, clearing tables, resetting, & the one young man was absolutely astonishing, you would think he was part of their family the way he worked. Our waiter was excellent & on top of everything. A young lady was walking around with samples, which I ended up ordering a lb. of both because they were outstanding (an egg salad & a buffalo chicken salad), which we'll have for lunches this week. Management was visible on the floor, checking that everyone was happy, which was nice to see. My teenage son ordered the "Hungry Man" breakfast sandwich & made all of us taste it because he was so in love with this sandwich. It was recommended to him, that if he loved that one, he needs to try the "Heads-Up" his next visit. My hubby ordered his "go to", mushroom & cheese omelet & said it was the 1st he's gotten in a very long time that the mushrooms were actually sautéed first. Again, outstanding. My Greek omelet was loaded with the ingredients & everything was cooked perfectly. Despite the cost being a little more than other local breakfast joints, I am going to go with the saying, "You get what you pay for". The extra few dollars were absolutely worth it!!! Can't wait for our next Sunday...
Read moreFamily Bagels of Long Island on Coral Ridge Dr. in Coral Springs is hands down one of my favorite spots for breakfast! From the moment we walk in the door, we are always recognized and greeted warmly, which makes this place feel like a second home.
Our usual waitress, Noble is always pleasant and fun. Her friendly demeanor and attentive service really add to the overall experience. She always ensures we have everything we need (especially my endless cups of coffee!) and makes our visits truly enjoyable.
The food is consistently great. My family usually sticks to the basics like bacon and scrambled eggs with home fries and toast, as well as breakfast sandwiches and omelets. Everything is always cooked perfectly and tastes delicious! It's clear they use quality ingredients and take pride in what they serve.
The atmosphere is very comfortable and family friendly. It's the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy your meal, and feel right at home. Whether you're a regular or a first-time visitor, the welcoming environment makes everyone feel like part of the family.
Family Bagels of Long Island gets 5 stars across the board from me! If you are in Coral Springs and looking for a great place for breakfast, this is it. You won't be...
