Beautiful Things Lighting — Attraction in Coral Springs

Beautiful Things has a MESS of lamps, fixtures and hanging fixtures. They also stock a variety of decorative items (mirrors, clocks, bric-a-brac). It occupies several sections of a semi-industrial strip center near our home.

I went in about a month ago seeking a torchiere style floor lamp. They had a number of them in a range from elaborate-but-staid to modern and olympic torch style ("SOLD" but still on site).

Eventually my eyes fell on an exuberant and totally unique model that was marked down considerably, perhaps due to somewhat sloppy workmanship on the [glass] shade. I have some of my grandmother's 100+ year old furniture; my friend believes that the new lamp fits in with the old "library table" just fine.

We worked the most with one "Clayton", who did a yeoman's job of finding an alternative shade; the point being that he went above and beyond to help me find what I wanted. To tell the truth, though, the imperfections are so small that I might well just save the alternate shade as a spare when it arrives.

I also found an upward-facing table lamp and my friend bought a H-U-G-E hammered metal clock.

In conversation with one of the people there I commented on the fact that I hadn't gotten anything like this lamp for decades he said something like "that's the problem with lamps; you keep them forever".

But if I DO need a lamp, or perhaps one of those gorgeous LED fixtures, I'll certainly visit Beautiful...

As a result, due to his monumental efforts extended to accommodate all my needs, extensive research to find appropriate fixtures, friendly attitude and most importantly/ honesty I have exclusively purchased all my lighting fixtures from BlT and will continue doing so. After the fixtures I have started ordering accessories and once again benefited from exceptionally professional attitude, efficiency and expertise. I purchased three Visual Comfort Marine Outdoor post lights. A year and 3mos. later noticed they were corroding and rusting. I paid almost $500 a piece for "MARINE" OUTDOOR lights and when I called Visual Comfort they told me to call the retailer and they would make it right. I called Beautiful Things and immediately they gave me the run around and said that "their hands were tied" and blamed it on Visual Comfort. They trashed Visual Comfort and the whole time I was thinking, "If this company is so lousy, why are you selling their products??" They just assumed I was naive, (it's the southern accent), and I would go away. My husband and I were pleasantly persistent in trying to at least get a credit BUT THEY REFUSED to do the right thing. We spent thousands of dollars on other lighting but that didn't matter. One of the owners pretended to be an employee and was passing the buck to the other owner. The other owner is from the northeast. He got short and curt and didn't want to have anything to do with us. So I'm doing everything I can to get the word out. THEY DON'T STAND BY THE PRODUCTS THEY...
