Edit 9/27/17: Went back again, staff arestill unhelpful and rude. Seems like they only care when it's a person of their own origin. Never coming back again.
The food is great but I recently ran into some rude staff, the majority of the staff are nice and friendly though. These staff were younger I guess and It's like they don't know how to deal with customers and like they're just there hanging out, I felt like I was intruding when I walked in and that should never be. They didn't say hello, didn't greet like the other employees do, they were just chatting amongst themselves and leaving me wondering if it's ok to order or not, and she saw me looking confused too and then whispered something to her other coworker after looking at me. They really didn't know how to treat customers and I was shocked because it was the first time that I've ever had a problem at this place. Cute little place to eat at with a big selection of empanadas, drinks, and desserts and it's super clean in there which I appreciate, I don't want to stop going here, so I guess I just won't be going late...

If you like empanadas, then you'll love Pastel. They both fried and baked versions and over 20 types of fillings. In addition they have ready to go quick snacks like coxinhas (chicken stuffed snack), kibi (fried ground beef with spices) and cheese bread.
In addition to all the great savory food, they prepare fresh juices made with an assortment of tropical fruits. I highly recommend the passion fruit juice. And if you like sweets, they have freshly made cakes and Pastel with sweet fillings like Nutella, banana and strawberry.
If you're in the area and want to try something new, give this...

The pastéis are made when you order them, so the dough is hot and fresh, a real difference maker with these type of snacks. The savory options are good, but where they shine is the coconut and dulce de leche and similar options. They also offer pamonha (Brazi's take on tamales), which are very good. The other bakes goods are tasty, and nothing to shake a stick at, but with other Brazilian bakeries around they're hard to put on a pedestal. Check their hours before visiting, as they can be a...
