Had a great time here except for going the the gift shop. I served 8 years in the Navy and was excited to tell my 4 year old about Boatswain’s whistle. I told him I’m going to get this for you. I let him try it and within 1 minute the elderly Karen with a Joe Dirt hairdo rushed me telling me I would have to buy it. She was manic and was scaring my child with her anxiety. She was telling of sickness going around and I told her ok. I picked out the whistle he blew on and trying to end this conversation with an incensed shop keeper I asked we will buy it. I said this calmly and never meet her intensity. I did not want to argue or cause a scene. The next 3-5 she made it clear and loudly about my son spreading germs. The whistle was $8.92 I just wanted to pay for it and politely leave. She was stalling to keep trying to publicly shame me and scaring my Son. I asked if they offer a veteran discount she of course made this a big issue I showed her my PA Drivers license with my veteran insignia and I had to show it to her because she couldn’t find it. After this painful interaction paid for the whistle and left. When I looked the receipt I saw she did not give me a veterans discount. It’s not about the money it’s about the disrespect and blatant disregard for others to be petty. I don’t know what that woman was going through but I will pray for her. I really didn’t want to take the time to do this but if it saves someone else from the trouble I’m here to serve. I was really disappointed with how aggressive and rude this woman treated us. If you go to this Lighthouse stay way from...
Read moreSorry. This gift shop is not getting 4.9 rating from me. Let's give it a two-star rating out of five for making you wait in a social distancing line outside the shop and only letting a couple into the store at a time. These must be Democrats in charge of the gift shop because I'm pretty sure the division of state parks did not mandate this. The guard lady was borderline rude because there were no large signs posted for the many people around there to even be able to...
