Hearthside Park — Attraction in Cottage Grove

What once WAS a fairly safe play park is now a scary, dangerous obsticle of a few slides and ladders. Used to have 4 swings and a baby swing, now only 2 swings. Nothing you can let a 2-4 year old play on anymore. Poor attempt at safety with a CEMENT border around it, so you can trip in the old fashion wood chips and header into the cement. Oh and the tennis and basketball courts are being torn down as we speak. So sad! New activity going on in this park. No idea what they are trying to build. They cut the fencing down in half around the tennis court and added new fencing. Brand new Short fencing. Can;t possilbly be a tennis court anymore. And as far as a sledding hill. Nope they ruined that years ago by planting trees there. They just don't like kids here I guess. Yet this is what they tell prospective home buyers: Hearthside Park is a 6 ½ acre park with a baseball field, two basketball courts, two tennis courts, a rentable building, an ice skating rink, and play structure. Nice 200' ball field with fence and wild stops and covered dugouts for both teams.

Nice tennis courts. And 2 smaller, one about 3/4 basketball courts.

Nice playground plenty to keep any family occupied...
