Caribou Coffee — Restaurant in Cottage Grove

I had a weird experience here today. I don't often go out for coffee, but decided to go get one for myself since it was my birthday. I have been to this location in the past and always had good experiences, this time was strange. I ordered a drink which was one of their drinks on the menu, nothing special. I got up to the window and a young woman opened the window and confirmed my drink order and I confirmed, and then she told me amount due. I handed her cash, she handed me my changed and I tipped almost 50%. She asked me if I would like a straw and I said yes please, and she handed one to me. She then pushed the window closed, but it did not close all the way and then I heard as she walked over to the other two employees her say, "she asked for a straw, I really hate her now". I thought it was super odd, there were no other customers, so I know she was talking about me. They were all standing closely together and then one of them noticed I was watching as my drink was being made. The employee came over in front of the window in front of me and turned their back and blocked me from watching the drink be made. It made me really uncomfortable, but I thanked the other young woman who delivered my drink and left. I could not bring myself to drink my $8.50 drink, because I had thoughts in my head that something was done to the drink. All I wanted was soy milk in my drink instead of milk I’m mildly lactose intolerant I can have whip cream just not a full drink w milk in it cus I’m about to work and they refused to make it I asked what other blended drinks they had that would be able to have non dairy I was told cookies and cream but it had no coffee I asked if they could just throw a shot into that so I could still have my caffeine and was told they couldn’t do that I’ve been a barista for 6 years it makes no sense why they could not just either throw a shot into or just make the drink the way I asked in the first place so don’t go here if u have allergies or need anything specialized cus they are lazy and will just tell u...

Just got my drink, drove off, and then realized it was half empty. Why would they give someone this? I had a cranky baby in the car otherwise I would’ve went back. This was my second time trying out this Caribou. The first time I went, the worker was rude so I didn’t try it again for a while. But I decided to give it another chance and got this half empty drink.
